• Food delivery service provider Zomato filed IPO draft papers to raise Rs 8,250 crore through Initial Public Offering (IPO). The company plans to raise Rs 8,250 crore from primary markets.
• Zomato’s IPO will be among the first technology unicorns to be listed in India.

2. DRDO conducts maiden trial of Python-5 Air to Air Missile

• Python-5 Air to Air Missile was successfully test-fired at Goa. It met all the planned objectives. It was added to Tejas, India’s indigenous Light Combat Aircraft.

• Python-5 is the advanced version of Derby. Python-5 was the fifth-generation missile of Python, which was manufactured by It is manufactured in the name of Shafir in Israel and being exported as Derby and Python.
• It is a beyond visual range missile with the capability to lock on before launch.

• வானிலிருந்தபடி வான் இலக்கை துல்லியமாகத் தாக்கி அழிக்கும் பைத்தான்-5 ஏவுகணை கோவாவில் வெற்றிகரமாக சோதிக்கப்பட்டது. இது திட்டமிட்ட அனைத்து நோக்கங்களையும் பூர்த்தி செய்தது. இது இந்தியாவின் உள்நாட்டு இலகு ரக போர் விமானமான தேஜஸுடன் சேர்க்கப்பட்டது.

3. Apollo 11 mission Astronaut Michael Collins died at the age of 90

• Astronaut Michael Collins, who was one of the crew members in the first moon mission, Apollo 11, died on 29 April 2021 at the age of 90 in Florida. He monitored the mission while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped on the moon.
• Michael Collins stayed in the spacecraft and circled roughly 60 miles above the lunar surface. He suffered from cancer and died at the age of 90.

• Apollo 11 was the first moon landing mission of the world. The landing took place on 16 July 1969.
• Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins were the crew members. Apollo 11 mission was launched by Saturn V rocket from Kennedy Space Centre, Florida.

3. அப்பல்லோ 11 திட்டத்தின் விண்வெளி வீரரான மைக்கேல் காலின்ஸ் தனது 90வது வயதில் காலமானார்

• முதல் நிலவில் தரையிரங்கும் திட்டமான அப்பல்லோ 11 பயணத்தில் குழு உறுப்பினராக இருந்த விண்வெளி வீரர் மைக்கேல் காலின்ஸ், புளோரிடாவில் 29 ஏப்ரல் 2021இல் தனது 90வது வயதில் காலமானார். நீல் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங் மற்றும் பஸ் ஆல்ட்ரின் ஆகியோர் நிலவில் காலடி எடுத்து வைத்தபோது காலின்ஸ் அப்பணியைக் கண்காணித்தார்.
• மைக்கேல் காலின்ஸ் விண்கலத்திலிருந்தபடியே சந்திர மேற்பரப்பில் இருந்து சுமார் 60 மைல்கள் மேலே வட்டமிட்டார். புற்றுநோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட அவர் தனது 90வது வயதில் காலமானார்.

• அப்பல்லோ 11 உலகின் முதல் நிலவில் தரையிறங்கும் திட்டமாகும். 16 ஜூலை 1969 அன்று இந்த தரையிறக்கம் நடந்தது.
• நீல் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங், பஸ் ஆல்ட்ரின் மற்றும் மைக்கேல் காலின்ஸ் ஆகியோர் குழு உறுப்பினர்களாக இருந்தனர். புளோரிடாவில் உள்ள கென்னடி விண்வெளி மையத்தில் இருந்து சாட்டர்ன் 5 ராக்கெட் மூலம் அப்பல்லோ 11 ஏவப்பட்டது.

4. Survey of Nilgiri Tahr has commenced at Eravikulam National Park of Munnar

• Survey of Nilgiri Tahr has commenced at Eravikulam National Park of The Nilgiri Tahr is surveyed by the Kerala forest department every year.
• Last year’s survey showed 723 Nilgiri Tahr and 111 newborn baby tahrs. There are 98 new baby tahrs this year.

Nilgiri Tahr

• Scientific name: Nilgiritragus hylocrius
• It is the State animal of Tamil Nadu.
• It is found in the Western ghats of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
• It is the only mountain ungulate among the 12 species found in India.

• மூணாரில் உள்ள இறவிக்குளம் தேசியப் பூங்காவில் நீலகிரி வரையாடுகள் கணக்கெடுக்கும் பணி தொடங்கியுள்ளது. இங்கு ஆண்டுதோறும் கேரள வனத்துறையினர் நீலகிரி வரையாடுகள் கணக்கெடுப்புப் பணியில் ஈடுபடுவர். 
• கடந்த ஆண்டு கணக்கெடுப்பில் 723 நீலகிரி வரையாடுகள், 111 புதிதாகப் பிறந்த குட்டி வரையாடுகள் ஆகியவை காணப்பட்டன. இந்த ஆண்டு புதியதாக 98 குட்டி வரையாடுகள் உள்ளதாக வனத்துறையினர் தெரிவித்தனர்.

நீலகிரி வரையாடு

• அறிவியல் பெயர்: நீல்கிரிட்ராகஸ் ஹைலோகிரியஸ்
• இது தமிழ்நாட்டின் மாநில விலங்கு ஆகும்.
• இது தமிழ்நாடு மற்றும் கேரளாவின் மேற்குத் தொடர்ச்சி மலைகளில் காணப்படுகிறது.
• இந்தியாவில் காணப்படும் 12 இனங்களில் இது மட்டுமே மலை குளம்பிகாலியாகும்.
• இது IUCNஇன் அருகிவரும் பட்டியலில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

5. Pots with symbols have been found from urns dating back 2600 years in the excavation at Keeladi

• Department of Archaeology of Tamil Nadu undertakes the seventh phase of excavation work at Keladi in the the Sivaganga district. These excavations are in progress at Keladi, Agaram and Kondagai.
• Pots with symbols were found from old people’s urns dating back 2,600 years ago found in the Kondagai area.

5. கீழடியில் நடைபெறும் அகழாய்வில் 2600 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முந்தைய முதுமக்கள் தாழிகளிலிருந்து குறியீடுகளுடன் கூடிய பானைகள் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன

6. NTIPRIT conducts webinar on “NavIC — Opportunities for the Telecom Industry” along with ISRO and Telecom industry

• NTIPRIT (National Telecommunications Institute for Policy Research, Innovation and Training), conducted a webinar on the topic “NaviC – Opportunities for the Telecom Industry” along with ISRO and Telecom Industry.

NaviC:

• NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) or IRNSS (Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System) is an autonomous regional satellite navigation system of India which was established by ISRO. It is an indigenous positioning system that is under Indian control. So, there is no risk of the service being withdrawn or denied in each situation. It covers India and a region extending up to 1,500 km beyond the Indian mainland.
• Application of NaviC: Civilian sectors including transport, map applications, and timekeeping.

NTIPRIT:

• NTIPRIT (National Telecommunications Institute for Policy Research Innovation and Training) is the apex training institute of Department of Telecommunications.

7. Tamil Nadu Division IAS Officer T.V. Somanathan has been appointed as the Union Finance Secretary

• V. Somanathan, an IAS officer of The Tamil Nadu Division in 1987, has been appointed as the Union Finance Secretary after the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet.
• He had earlier served as the Expenditure Secretary of the Union Finance Ministry.

8. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK)

• The executive Chairperson Biocon Ltd, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). MSK is a world leader in cancer treatment and research-based in New York, USA.
• She is among the 52 members on the board and will serve for a term of three years.
• Mazumdar-Shaw is the first Indian woman to be appointed to the Board of Trustees of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK)
