TAMIL NADU

1. Indian President inaugurates the centenary celebrations of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly

• President Ram Nath Govind inaugurated the centenary celebrations of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and unveiled the portrait of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
• Fort St. George, which has been the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, has turned 100. Fort St. George was inaugurated by Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, on 12 January 1921. The fort belongs to the 17th century.
• This is the first time in four decades that a portrait of an eminent figure of a state is getting unveiled by the Indian President. Earlier, in 1977, the then Indian President N. Sanjiva Reddy had unveiled the portrait of Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Kamaraj.
• In 1927, Muthulakshmi Reddy, became the first woman member of the Madras Legislative Council.
• Pa. Aditanar introduced the practice of commencing the House’s proceedings with the recital of a verse from Thirukkural when he was the Speaker of the Madras Legislative Council during 1967-68.
• “Tamil Thai Vazhthu” was rendered in July 1991 for the first time at the beginning of the Governor’s address when J. Jayalalitha was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

1. தமிழ்நாடு சட்டமன்றத்தின் நூற்றாண்டு விழாவை இந்திய குடியரசுத் தலைவர் தொடங்கி வைத்தார்

• குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் தமிழ்நாடு சட்டமன்றத்தின் நூற்றாண்டு விழா தொடங்கி வைத்தார் மற்றும் தமிழ்நாட்டின் முன்னாள் முதல்வர் மு.கருணாநிதியின் உருவப்படத்தை திறந்து வைத்தார்.
• தமிழ்நாடு சட்டமன்றமாக இயங்கும் புனித ஜார்ஜ் கோட்டை 100 வயதை அடைந்தது. புனித ஜார்ஜ் கோட்டை, 12 ஜனவரி 1921 அன்று, கன்னாட் பிரபு இளவரசர் ஆர்தரால் திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த கோட்டை 17ஆம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சேர்ந்தது.
• நான்கு தசாப்தங்களில் ஒரு மாநிலத்தின் புகழ்பெற்ற நபரின் உருவப்படம் இந்தியத் குடியரசுத் தலைவரால் திறந்து வைக்கப்படுவது இதுவே முதல் முறையாகும். முன்னதாக, 1977இல் அப்போதைய இந்தியத் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் என். சஞ்சீவ ரெட்டி, முன்னாள் தமிழ்நாடு முதல்வர் கே. காமராஜின் உருவப்படத்தை திறந்து வைத்தார்.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches digital payment solution ‘e-RUPI’

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched e-RUPI. e-RUPI is a cashless and contactless instrument for digital payment. It is a QR code or SMS string-based e-Voucher, which is delivered to the mobile of the beneficiaries.
• The users of this seamless one-time payment mechanism will be able to redeem the voucher without a card, digital payments app or internet banking access at the service provider.
• It has been developed by the National Payments Corporation of India on its UPI platform, in collaboration with the Department of Financial Services, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and National Health Authority.

2. டிஜிட்டல் பணப் பரிவா்த்தனை வசதியான ‘இ-ருபி’-ஐ பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி தொடங்கி வைத்தார்

• பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி ‘இ-ருபி’-ஐ தொடங்கி வைத்தார். இ-ரூபி என்பது கட்டணமில்லா மற்றும் தொடர்பில்லா டிஜிட்டல் பணப்பரிவா்த்தனை கருவியாகும். இது ஒரு க்யூஆர் (QR) குறியீடு அல்லது குறுஞ்செய்தி அடிப்படையிலான பற்றட்டை (e-Voucher) ஆகும். இது பயனாளிகளின் கைபேசிக்கு அனுப்பப்படுகிறது.

• Odisha’s capital, Bhubaneswar, became the first city in India to achieve 100% vaccination against COVID-19.

4. India takes over the UNSC Presidency

• India is all set to take over the Presidency of the UN Security Council. This is India’s tenth tenure. Earlier, India was the President of UNSC during June 1950, September 1967, December 1972, October 1977, February 1985, October 1991, December 1992, August 2011 and November 2012.

5. Deepak Das takes charge as the new Controller General of Accounts

• Deepak Das took charge as the new Controller General of Accounts. He is the 25^th Controller General of Accounts (CGA).
• He is a 1986-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer. He has served as the Principal Chief Controller of Accounts in the Central Board of Direct Taxes(CBDT).

5. புதிய தலைமை கணக்கு கட்டுப்பாட்டு அதிகாரியாக தீபக் தாஸ் பொறுப்பேற்கிறார்

• புதிய தலைமை கணக்கு கட்டுப்பாட்டு அதிகாரியாக தீபக் தாஸ் பொறுப்பேற்றார். தீபக் தாஸ் 25வது தலைமை கணக்கு கட்டுப்பாட்டு அதிகாரியாவார் (சிஜிஏ).
• அவர் 1986ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய சிவில் அக்கவுண்ட்ஸ் சர்வீஸ் (ஐசிஏஎஸ்) அதிகாரி ஆவார். அவர் மத்திய நேரடி வரி வாரியத்தில் முதன்மை தலைமை கணக்கு கட்டுப்பாட்டாளராக பணியாற்றியுள்ளார்.

6. Centenarian sprinter Man Kaur passed away at the age of 105

• Centenarian sprinter Man Kaur passed away at the age of 105. She won 100-metre sprint in the Masters Athletics Championship at the age of 93.
• Man Kaur was declared the face of the Fit India Movement by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. She won at the World Masters Games in Auckland in 2017.

6. நூற்றாண்டு தடகள வீரர் மேன் கவுர் தனது 105வது வயதில் காலமானார்

• நூற்றாண்டு தடகள வீரர் மேன் கவுர் தனது 105வது வயதில் காலமானார். அவர் தனது 93வது வயதில் மாஸ்டர்ஸ் தடகள சாம்பியன்ஷிப்பில் 100 மீட்டர் தடகள போட்டியில் வென்றார்.
• மத்திய இளைஞர் விவகாரங்கள் மற்றும் விளையாட்டு அமைச்சகத்தால் ஃபிட் இந்தியா இயக்கத்தின் முகமாக மன் கவுர் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டார். அவர் 2017இல் ஆக்லாந்தில் நடந்த உலக மாஸ்டர்ஸ் விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகளில் வென்றார்.

7. Cyrus Poonawalla was selected for the Lokmanya Tilak Award

• Pune-based Serum Institute of India’s founder Cyrus Ponnawalla will be honoured with the Lokmanya Tilak Award 2021 for his work during the coronavirus pandemic. The award comprises a cash prize of one lakh rupees as well as a memento. The award was first given in 1983.
• Serum Institute of India (SII) was founded in 1966. It is the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer by the number of doses produced and sold globally.

7. லோக்மான்ய திலக் விருதுக்கு சைரஸ் பூனவாலா தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார்

• புனேவைச் சேர்ந்த சீரம் இன்ஸ்டிடியூட் ஆப் இந்தியாவின் நிறுவனர் சைரஸ் பூனவாலா , கோவிட்-19 தொற்றின் போது பணியாற்றியதற்காக லோக்மான்ய திலக் விருது 2021க்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். இந்த விருது ஒரு லட்சம் ரூபாய் ரொக்கப் பரிசு மற்றும் நினைவுப் பரிசு ஆகியவற்றை உள்ளடக்கியது. இந்த விருது முதலில் 1983இல் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
• சீரம் இன்ஸ்டிடியூட் ஆப் இந்தியா (SII) 1966இல் நிறுவப்பட்டது. உற்பத்தி செய்யப்பட்டு விற்கப்படும் அளவுகளின் எண்ணிக்கையால் இது உலகின் மிகப்பெரிய தடுப்பூசி உற்பத்தியாளராகும்.

8. P. V. Sindhu becomes the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals

• V. Sindhu bagged the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and became the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals. She defeated He Bing Jiao of China. She won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics 2016.
• Wrestler Sushil Kumar is the first and only other Indian to win two Olympic medals.

• முத்தலாக்கிற்கு எதிரான சட்டம் இயற்றப்பட்டதை கொண்டாடும் வகையில் முஸ்லீம் பெண்கள் உரிமைகள் தினம் 1 ஆகஸ்ட் 2021 அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.

11. International Friendship Day – 1 August

• Friendship Day is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of August to celebrate the friendship and precious bonds of togetherness between people. This year (2021) the day falls on 1 August.
• Friendship Day was first celebrated in Paraguay in 1958.

12. Shaheed Udham Singh’s martyrdom day – 31 July

• Shaheed Udham Singh was an Indian revolutionary belonging to the Ghadar Party. He was known for his assassination of Michael O’Dwyer in London on 13 March 1940, for which he was hanged on 31 July 1940.

12. ஷஹீத் உதாம் சிங்கின் தியாக நாள் – 31 ஜூலை

• ஷஹீத் உதாம் சிங், காதர் அமைப்பைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு இந்தியப் புரட்சியாளர் ஆவார். 13 மார்ச் 1940 அன்று லண்டனில் மைக்கேல் ஓ’டயரை படுகொலை செய்ததற்காக அவர் அறியப்பட்டார். அதற்காக அவர் 31 ஜூலை 1940 அன்று தூக்கிலிடப்பட்டார்.

13. Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s Death Anniversary – 1 August

• Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s 101^st death anniversary was observed on 1 August 2021.
• He was an Indian nationalist, teacher and independence activist. Tilak was the first leader of the extremist Indian independence movement. He was known as “The Father of the Indian unrest”.

• லோக்மான்ய பால் கங்காதர திலகரின் 101வது நினைவு நாள், 1 ஆகஸ்ட் 2021 அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது.
• அவர் ஒரு இந்திய தேசியவாதி, ஆசிரியர் மற்றும் சுதந்திர ஆர்வலர் ஆவார். இந்திய தீவிர தேசியவாத சுதந்திர இயக்கத்தின் முதல் தலைவர் திலக் ஆவார். அவர் “இந்திய அமைதியின்மையின் தந்தை” என்று அறியப்பட்டார்.
