TAMIL NADU

1. Ancient Tamil inscription was found at Motupalli village of Andhra Pradesh

• A 14^th century Tamil inscription belonging to the Kakatiya ruler Rudra Deva II (1289-1323) was found at Motupalli village near Chirala in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. It has been written in the Tamil language and Tamil and Grandha scripts.
• This inscription is the second and next to a Tamil inscription found at Motupalli issued by Kakatiya ruler Ganapatideva that dated back to 1244 AD.

1. ஆந்திர மாநிலம் மோதுப்பள்ளியில் பழங்கால தமிழ் கல்வெட்டு கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது

• ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசத்தின் பிரகாசம் மாவட்டத்தில் சிராலா அருகே உள்ள மோதுப்பள்ளி கிராமத்தில் காகத்திய ஆட்சியாளர் இரண்டாம் ருத்ர தேவனுக்கு (1289-1323) சொந்தமான 14ஆம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சேர்ந்த தமிழ் கல்வெட்டு கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது தமிழ் மொழி மற்றும் தமிழ் மற்றும் கிராந்தா வரிவடிவங்களில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• கி.பி. 1244ஆம் ஆண்டு காகத்திய ஆட்சியாளர் கணபதிதேவனால் வெளியிடப்பட்ட மோதுப்பள்ளி என்ற இடத்தில் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட தமிழ் கல்வெட்டுக்கு அடுத்தபடியான கல்வெட்டு இதுவாகும்.

2. A hero stone with an image of dog found near Tiruvannamalai

• A hero stone with the image of dog was found as two parts in T. Velur village. This stone is 5 feet high and 4 feet wide. At the centre, there is a sculpture of a dog clamping the pig’s mouth. There is no inscription on the stone. Its period maybe 1000 years.

2. திருவண்ணாமலை அருகே நாய் நடுகல் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது

• திருவண்ணாமலையில் உள்ள தா. வேளூா் கிராமத்தில் நாய் உருவம் செதுக்கப்பட்ட நடுகல் ஒன்று, இரு பாகங்களாக கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
• இந்த நடுகல் 5 அடி உயரமும், 4 அடி அகலமும் கொண்டுள்ளது. இதன் மையத்தில் ஒரு நாய், பன்றியின் வாயை கவ்வியவாறு ஒரு சிற்பம் அமைந்துள்ளது. நடுகல்லில் கல்வெட்டு எதுவும் இல்லை. இதன் காலம் 1000 ஆண்டுகளாக இருக்கலாம்.

3. Kerala Chief Minister launches ‘Sahajeevanam’ project for the differently-abled people

• Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated ‘Sahajeevanam’ for the differently-abled people to render support, government services and any other help required by them. It is a project for opening support centres to make Kerala disabled-friendly.

3. மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்காக ‘சஹஜீவனம்’ திட்டத்தை கேரள முதல்வர் தொடங்கி வைத்துள்ளார்

• மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகள் ஆதரவு, அரசுப் பணிகள் மற்றும் அவர்களுக்குத் தேவையான வேறு எந்த உதவியையும் வழங்க, கேரள முதல்வர் பினராயி விஜயன், மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கான ‘சஹஜீவனம்’ என்ற திட்டத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்தார். இது கேரளாவை மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கும் ஏற்றதாக உருவாக்க ஆதரவு மையங்களைத் திறக்கும் திட்டமாகும்.

4. Union Tribal Affairs Ministry launches ‘Adi-Prashikshan Portal’ for tribal development

• Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) has launched ‘Adi-Prashikshan Portal’ as a central repository of all training programs conducted by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, State Tribal Research Institutes (TRI), National Society for Education of Tribal Students (NESTS) and other organisations funded by the Ministry.
• The main objective of the portal is to create an end-to-end centralised online interactive training platform on tribal development.

4. பழங்குடியினர் மேம்பாட்டுக்காக ஆதி-பிரஷிக்ஷன் வலைத்தளத்தை மத்திய பழங்குடியினர் விவகார அமைச்சகம் தொடங்கியுள்ளது

• மத்திய பழங்குடியினர் விவகாரங்கள் அமைச்சகம், மாநில பழங்குடியினர் ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனங்கள் (TRI), பழங்குடியினர் மாணவர்களின் கல்விக்கான தேசிய சங்கம் (NESTS) மற்றும் அந்த அமைச்சகத்தால் நிதியளிக்கப்படும் பிற அமைப்புகளால் நடத்தப்படும் அனைத்து பயிற்சி திட்டங்களின் மைய களஞ்சியமாக ‘ஆதி-பிரஷிக்ஷன் வலைத்தளத்தை’ மத்திய பழங்குடியினர் விவகார அமைச்சகம் (MoTA) தொடங்கியுள்ளது.
• பழங்குடியினர் மேம்பாடு குறித்த இறுதி-முதல்-இறுதி மையப்படுத்தப்பட்ட ஆன்லைன் ஊடாடும் பயிற்சி தளத்தை உருவாக்குவதே இந்த வலைத்தளத்தின் முக்கிய நோக்கமாகும்.

5. Shailesh Jejurikar becomes the Chief Operating Officer of P&G

• Shailesh Jejurikar was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of P&G (Procter and Gamble) multi-national company effective from 1 October 2021.
• He did B.A. Economics in Mumbai University and MBA in the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.

5. சைலேஷ் ஜெஜூரிகர் பி&ஜி-இன் தலைமை இயக்க அதிகாரியாக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்

• சைலேஷ் ஜெஜூரிகர் 1 அக்டோபர் 2021 அன்று முதல் நடைமுறைக்கு வரும் பி&ஜி (பிராக்டர் அண்ட் கேம்பிள்) பன்னாட்டு நிறுவனத்தின் தலைமை இயக்க அதிகாரியாக (COO) நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.
• அவர் மும்பை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் பி. ஏ. பொருளியல் மற்றும் லக்னோவில் உள்ள இந்திய மேலாண்மை நிறுவனத்தில் எம்பிஏ செய்தார்.

6. Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah breaks Florence Griffith Joyner’s Olympic record in women’s 100 m

• Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah won the gold medal in 100 m in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. She broke the record of Florence Griffith Joyner by finishing in 10.61 seconds.
• Griffith Joyner’s world record 10.49 seconds still remains the top.

6. ஜமைக்கா தடகள வீராங்கனை எலைன் தாம்சன்-ஹெரா பெண்கள் 100 மீ போட்டியில் ஃப்ளோரன்ஸ் கிரிஃபித் ஜாய்னரின் ஒலிம்பிக் சாதனையை முறியடித்துள்ளார்

• டோக்கியோ ஒலிம்பிக் 2020இல் ஜமைக்காவின் தடகள வீராங்கனை எலைன் தாம்சன்-ஹெரா 100 மீ போட்டியில் தங்கப் பதக்கம் வென்றார். அவர் ஃப்ளோரன்ஸ் கிரிஃபித் ஜாய்னரின் சாதனையை 10.61 விநாடிகளில் முடித்ததன் மூலம் முறியடித்தார்.

7. Qatar’s Mutaz Essa Barshim and Italy’s Gianmarco Tamberi become joint gold medal winners in the men’s high jump event

• Qatar’s Mutaz Essa Barshim and Italy’s Gianmarco Tamberi became joint gold medal winners in the men’s high jump event at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
• They finished at a draw and failed to clear 2.39 metres thrice. When they were asked for another jump-off to declare the winner, they chose to share gold, if possible.

8. India loses to Belgium in the men’s hockey semifinals at the Tokyo Olympics 2020

• Indian hockey men’s team lost 2-5 to Belgium in the semifinals at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. So, India will play for bronze.
• India has entered the semifinals after 49 years since there was no semifinals tie in the 1980 Olympics.
• Indian hockey team has won eight gold medals in the Olympics. India emerged as Champions at the Olympic Games in 1928, 1932, 1936, 1948, 1952, 1956, 1964 and 1980.

9. Karsten Warholm wins 400 m hurdles and sets a world record

• Karsten Warholm of Norway won the Tokyo Olympics 2020 men’s 400 m gold medal in a world record time of 45.94 seconds. He beat his own record of 46.70 seconds.

• நார்வேயின் கார்ஸ்டன் வார்ஹோல்ம் டோக்கியோ ஒலிம்பிக் 2020இல் ஆண்கள் 400 மீ பிரிவில் 45.94 விநாடிகளில் ஓடி தங்கப் பதக்கம் வென்று உலக சாதனை படைத்தார். அவர் தனது சொந்த சாதனையான 46.70 விநாடிகளை முறியடித்தார்.

10. Fouaad Mirza becomes the first Indian equestrian for entering jumping finals at the Olympics

• Indian equestrian Fouaad Mirza entered jumping finals of an individual event in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and became the first Indian equestrian for entering jumping finals at the Olympics. He earned the 23^rd position in the finals.
• Imtiaz Anees (Sydney 2000) and Late Wing Commander I. J. Lamba (Atlanta 1996) were the two other Olympians from India in equestrian.

10. குதிரையேற்றத்தில் தனிநபா் ஜம்பிங் பிரிவில் இறுதிச்சுற்றுக்கு முன்னேறிய முதல் இந்தியா் என்ற பெருமையை பெற்றார் ஃபௌவாத் மிா்ஸா

• இந்திய குதிரையேற்ற வீரரான ஃபௌவாத் மிா்ஸா, குதிரையேற்றத்தில் தனிநபா் ஜம்பிங் பிரிவில் இறுதிச்சுற்றுக்கு முன்னேறிய முதல் இந்தியா் என்ற பெருமையை பெற்றார். அவர் இறுதிச்சுற்றில் 23வது இடம் பிடித்தாா்.
• இதற்கு முன் இம்தியாஸ் அனீஸ் (சிட்னி 2000), மற்றும் மறைந்த ஐ. ஜே. லாம்பா (அட்லாண்டா 1996) ஆகிய இருவா் மட்டுமே இந்தியாவின் சாா்பில் குதிரையேற்றத்தில் பங்கேற்றிருந்தனா்.

11. Sifan Hassan wins Olympics gold medal in the 1500 m even after falling during the event

• Netherlands distance runner Sifan Hasan tripped over a fellow competitor during the 1500 m event, just under 400 m to go. But she managed to catch up with the leading athletes and clinched the gold medal.
• She also holds the world’s best time for the 5 km road race, the mile and the one hour run. She is also the first athlete to win both the 1500 m and 10,000 m at a single World Championships or Olympic Games.

• நெதர்லாந்தின் தொலைதூர ஓட்டப்பந்தய வீரர் சிபான் ஹாசன் 1500 மீட்டர் போட்டியின் போது சக போட்டியாளர் மீது 400 மீட்டருக்கும் குறைவான தூரம் இருக்கும்போது விழுந்தார். ஆனாலும் அவருக்கு முன் முன்னேறிய வீரர்களைப் பிடிக்க முடிந்தது மற்றும் அவர் தங்கப் பதக்கத்தையும் வென்றார்.
• அவர் 5 கி.மீ சாலை பந்தயம், மைல் மற்றும் ஒரு மணி நேர ஓட்டத்திற்கான உலகின் சிறந்த நேர சாதனையையும் வைத்திருக்கிறார். அவர் ஒரே உலக சாம்பியன்ஷிப் அல்லது ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டிகளில் 1500 மீ மற்றும் 10,000 மீ இரண்டையும் வென்ற முதல் தடகள வீரர் ஆவார்.

12. Dheeran Chinnamalai’s Death Anniversary – Aadi 18

• Dheeran Chinnamalai was born on 17 April 1756 in Kangeyam. His original name was Teerthgiri and he was one of the earliest freedom fighters against the British. He fiercely opposed the rule of the British East India Company and levying taxes on the people.
• As the Kongu region was under the control of the Mysore Sultan, a tax was collected by Tipu’s Diwan Mohammed Ali. Once, when the Diwan was returning to Mysore with the tax money, Theerthagiri blocked his way and confiscated all the tax money.
• He let Mohammed Ali go by instructing him to tell his Sultan that “Chinnamalai”, which is between Sivamalai and Chennimalai, was the one who took away taxes. Thus, he gained the name “Dheeran Chinnamalai”. The offended Diwan sent a contingent to attack Chinnamalai and both the forces met and fought at the Noyyal riverbed. Chinnamalai emerged victorious.
• He was captured in 1805 and hanged to death in Sangagiri Fort on 31 July 1805 (Aadi 18 in the Tamil month).

12. தீரன் சின்னமலை நினைவு தினம் – ஆடி 18

• தீரன் சின்னமலை 17 ஏப்ரல் 1756 அன்று காங்கேயத்தில் பிறந்தார். அவரது இயற்பெயர் தீர்த்தகிரி. பிரிட்டிஷாருக்கு எதிரான ஆரம்பகால சுதந்திரப் போராட்ட வீரர்களில் ஒருவராக இவர் இருந்தார். பிரிட்டிஷ் கிழக்கிந்திய கம்பெனியின் ஆட்சியை கடுமையாக எதிர்த்த அவர், மக்கள் மீது வரி விதிப்பதையும் எதிர்த்தார்.
• கொங்கு பகுதி மைசூர் சுல்தானின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் இருந்தது. திப்புவின் திவான் முகமது அலி என்பவரால் வரி வசூலிக்கப்பட்டது. ஒரு முறை திவான் வசூலிக்கப்பட்ட வரிப் பணத்தோடு மைசூருக்குத் திரும்பிக் கொண்டிருந்த போது, தீர்த்தகிரி அவரை வழிமறித்து வரிப் பணம் முழுவதையும் பறித்துக் கொண்டார்.
• இவர் முகமது அலியிடம் சிவமலைக்கும் சென்னிமலைக்கும் இடையே இருந்த ‘சின்னமலையே’ வரிப்பணத்தைப் பிடுங்கிக் கொண்டதாக சுல்தானுக்குப் போய்ச் சொல் என்று அறிவுறுத்தினார். அதன் பிறகே ‘தீரன் சின்னமலை’ என்று அவர் அழைக்கப்படலானார். அவமதிப்புக்குள்ளான திவான், சின்னமலையைத் தாக்க படையை அனுப்பினார். இருபடைகளும் நொய்யல் ஆற்றங்கரையில் மோதிக் கொண்டன. அதில் சின்னமலையே வெற்றி பெற்றார்.
• 1805ஆம் ஆண்டு சிறைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு, 31 ஜூலை 1805 அன்று (தமிழ் மாதத்தில் ஆடி 18) சங்ககிரிக் கோட்டையில் தூக்கிலிடப்பட்டார்.
