TAMIL NADU

1. V. O. Chidambaranar Port becomes the first major port in India to launch e-cars

• The O. Chidambaranar Port Trust has became the first major port in the India to deploy e-cars.
• The first batch of three e-cars was flagged off at the V. O. Chidambaranar Port Trust in Tamil Nadu.
• The Port Trust has inducted three Tata Xpres-T electric vehicles in the first phase.
• The three vehicles has been supplied on lease for six years.

• வ. உ. சிதம்பரனார் துறைமுகம் இந்தியாவில் மின்–கார்களை இயக்கிய முதல் பெரிய துறைமுகமானது.
• வ. உ. சிதம்பரனார் துறைமுகத்தில் மூன்று மின்–கார்கள் முதல் கட்டமாக கொடியசைத்து இயக்கப்பட்டது.
• வ. உ. சிதம்பரனார் துறைமுகம் முதல் கட்டமாக மூன்று டாடா எக்ஸ்பிரஸ்–டி மின்சார வாகனங்களை சேர்த்துள்ளது.
• இந்த மூன்று வாகனங்களும் ஆறு ஆண்டுகளாக குத்தகைக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

2. A 2,000-year-old archeological site was discovered in Sattur

• A 2,000-year-old archeological site was discovered at the Sattur deposit near Virudhunagar district.
• From the inscription of early Pandiya Vendhan, Maara Vallabhan who belongs to 823 AD reveals that the Sattur region has been known as “Sathanur” since ancient times.
• The antiquity of this town can be traced back to the name “Iruncho Nattu Sathanur” in the inscription.

2. சாத்தூரில் 2,000 ஆண்டுகள் பழமையான தொல்பொருள் தளம் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது

• விருதுநகர் மாவடத்தில் உள்ள சாத்தூரில் 2 ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முற்பட்ட தொல்லியல்மேடு கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• சாத்தூர் பகுதியானது பண்டைக்காலம் தொட்டே “சாத்தனூர்” என்றே அழைக்கப்பட்டு வந்துள்ளது என்பதை முற்காலப் பாண்டிய வேந்தன், மாற வல்லபனின் காலத்தைச் சேர்ந்த கி.பி. 823ம் ஆண்டு கல்வெட்டு ஒன்றின் மூலம் அறிய முடிகிறது.
• அக்கல்வெட்டில் “இருன்சோ நாட்டுச் சாத்தனூர்” என்ற பெயர் காணப்படுவதில் இருந்து இவ்வூரின் தொன்மையை அறிய முடிகிறது.

3. Ladakh begins ‘Pani Maah’ Campaign for the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission

• The Union Territory of Ladakh launched a month long campaign ‘Pani Maah’ (Water Month) to increase the pace of implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the Union Territory and to inform and engage village communities on the importance of clean water.
• The campaign will focus on water quality testing, planning and strategising water supply and seamless functioning of Pani Sabha in villages.

3. ஜல் ஜீவன் இயக்கத்தை செயல்படுத்த லடாக் ‘பானி மா‘ பிரச்சாரத்தை தொடங்கியது

4. Essential Security Services Bill was passed in the Parliament

• A bill has been passed in the Parliament banning workers from striking in the Department of Defense’s essential services.
• The Union Government introduced an emergency law to prevent workers in the defense services from engaging in strikes. 
• This bill paves the way for action, including dismissal, of those involved in the strike.

4. அத்தியாவசிய பாதுகாப்பு சேவைகள் மசோதா நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் நிறைவேறியது

• பாதுகாப்புத் துறை சாா்ந்த அத்தியாவசிய சேவைகளில் பணியாற்றும் ஊழியா்கள் வேலைநிறுத்தம் செய்வதற்குத் தடை விதிக்கும் மசோதா நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது.
• பாதுகாப்புத் துறை சாா்ந்த அத்தியாவசிய சேவைகளில் பணியாற்றுவோா், வேலைநிறுத்தத்தில் ஈடுபடுவதைத் தடுப்பதற்கான அவசரச் சட்டத்தை மத்திய அரசு கொண்டு வந்தது.
• வேலைநிறுத்தத்தில் ஈடுபடுவோா் மீது பணிநீக்கம் உள்ளிட்ட நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்வதற்கு இந்த மசோதா வழிவகுக்கிறது.

5. TRIFED celebrates its 34th Foundation Day

• Tribal Co-operative Marketing Federation of India (TRIFED) celebrated its 34^th Foundation Day, It was founded on 6 August 1987.
• It was founded to drive tribal development through marketing support for tribal products, both handicrafts and Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP).

5. இந்திய பழங்குடி கூட்டுறவு சந்தைப்படுத்தல் கூட்டமைப்பு (TRIFED) தனது 34வது நிறுவன நாளை கொண்டாடியது

• இந்திய பழங்குடி கூட்டுறவு சந்தைப்படுத்தல் கூட்டமைப்பு (TRIFED) தனது 34வது நிறுவன தினத்தை கொண்டாடியது , இதன் அமைப்பு 6 ஆகஸ்ட் 1987இல் நிறுவப்பட்டது.
• இது பழங்குடியினர் வளர்ச்சிக்கு, கைவினைப் பொருட்கள் மற்றும் மரம் சாராத வன உற்பத்தி (NTFP) ஆகிய இரண்டிற்கும் சந்தைப்படுத்தல் ஆதரவு மூலம் பழங்குடியினர் வளர்ச்சியை ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையில் நிறுவப்பட்டது.

6. Hiroshima Day – 6 August

• Hiroshima Day is observed on 6 August every year. This was the day when the atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
• On 6 Aug 1945 during the World War II, an atomic bomb code-named “Little Boy” was dropped on Japan’s Hiroshima resulting in an estimated 1,40,000 deaths.
• Hiroshima Day 2021 will mark the 76^th anniversary of the nuclear explosion.

6. ஹிரோஷிமா தினம் – 6 ஆகஸ்ட்

• ஹிரோஷிமா தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 6 ஆகஸ்ட் அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. ஜப்பானின் ஹிரோஷிமா நகரத்தில் அணுகுண்டு வீசப்பட்ட நாள் இதுவாகும்.
• இரண்டாம் உலகப் போரின் போது 6 ஆகஸ்ட் 1945 அன்று, ஜப்பானின் ஹிரோஷிமாவில் “லிட்டில் பாய்” (Little Boy) என்ற பெயரிடப்பட்ட ஒரு அணுகுண்டு வீசப்பட்டது 1,40,000 இறப்புகளை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
• ஹிரோஷிமா தினம் 2021 அணுவெடிப்பின் 76வது ஆண்டு நிறைவைக் குறிக்கும்.

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

7. Scientists from four BRICS countries are set to carry out genomic sequencing and mathematical modelling of the COVID-19 pandemic

• Indian scientists, in partnership with scientists from China, Russia and Brazil, will carry out genomic sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 and studies on the epidemiology and mathematical modelling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
• This will help trace genetic mutations, recombination as well as distribution of the virus and also make projections about the future of its spread.
• This study will provide a common platform to share and analyse the data of four different countries and understand the spread routes and transmission dynamics of the virus.

7. நான்கு பிரிக்ஸ் நாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த விஞ்ஞானிகள் கோவிட்-19 தொற்றுதொற்றின் மரபணு வரிசைமுறை மற்றும் கணித மாதிரியை ஆய்வு செய்ய உள்ளனர்

8. India’s first bio-bank for heart failure research was inaugurated at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology

• The first National Heart Failure Bio-bank (NHFB) in India that would collect blood, biopsies and clinical data as a guide to future therapies was inaugurated at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) located in kerala.
• Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Prof. Balram Bhargava inaugurated the NHFB virtually.
• This biobank will provide insights into heart diseases and heart failure among Indian children and adults.

8. இதய செயலிழப்பு ஆராய்ச்சிக்கான இந்தியாவின் முதல் உயிர் வங்கி ஸ்ரீ சித்ரா திருநாள் மருத்துவ அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனத்தில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது

• இந்தியாவின் முதல் தேசிய இதய செயலிழப்பு பயோ வங்கி (NHFB) இரத்தம், பயாப்ஸி மற்றும் மருத்துவத் தரவுகளைச் சேகரிக்கும் எதிர்கால சிகிச்சைக்கான வழிகாட்டியாக ஸ்ரீ சித்ரா திருநாள் மருத்துவ அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனத்தில் (SCTIMST) திறக்கப்பட்டது, இது கேரளாவில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

9. Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award was rechristened as Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award will now be known as the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, “respecting the sentiments of citizens across the country”.
• The Rajiv Khel Ratna Award is the highest sporting honour in the India.
• The Khel Ratna Award was instituted in 1991–1992 and the first recipient of the award was Chess legend Viswanathan Anand.
• The now renamed Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award comes with a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakhs.

Major Dhyan Chand:

Major Dhyan Chand, a field hockey player, played international hockey for India from 1926 to 1949, scoring over 400 goals in his career. Dhyan Chand, born in Allahabad, was part of the Indian Hockey Olympic team that won gold medals in 1928, 1932 and 1936.

9. ராஜீவ் காந்தி கேல் ரத்னா விருது, மேஜர் தியான் சந்த் கேல் ரத்னா விருது என மறுபெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது

• ராஜீவ் காந்தி கேல் ரத்னா விருது இனி மேஜர் தியான் சந்த் கேல் ரத்னா விருது என்று அழைக்கப்படும் என பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி அறிவித்தார்.
• நாட்டிலேயே விளையாட்டு துறைக்கான மிக உயரிய விருது ராஜீவ் காந்தி கேல் ரத்னா விருதாகும்.
• கேல் ரத்னா விருது 1991-1992இல் நிறுவப்பட்டது மற்றும் இந்த விருதை முதலில் வாங்கியவர் சதுரங்க விளையாட்டின் ஜாம்பவானான விஸ்வநாதன் ஆனந்த் ஆவார்.
• மறுபெயரிடப்பட்ட மேஜர் தியான் சந்த் கேல் ரத்னா விருது ரூ. 25 லட்சம் ரொக்கப் பரிசோடு வருகிறது.

மேஜர் தியான் சந்த்:

மேஜர் தியான் சந்த் ஒரு ஹாக்கி வீரர் ஆவார். 1926 முதல் 1949 வரை இந்தியாவிற்காக சர்வதேச ஹாக்கி விளையாடியுள்ளார். அவரது வாழ்நாளில் 400 கோல்களுக்கு மேல் அடித்துள்ளார் என்பது குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட்டது. அலகாபாத்தில் பிறந்த தியான் சந்த், 1928, 1932 மற்றும் 1936இல் தங்கப் பதக்கங்களை வென்ற இந்தியா ஹாக்கி ஒலிம்பிக் அணியின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இருந்தார்.

10. Indian Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya bags a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020

• Indian Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya won a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 after losing to two-time World Champion Zaur Uguev in the men’s freestyle 57kg category.
• After Sushil Kumar, he became the second male wrestler to win silver for India in wrestling at the Olympics.
• This is India’s fifth medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

10. மல்யுத்த வீரர் ரவிக்குமார் தஹியா வெள்ளிப் பதக்கம் வென்றார்

• ஆண்களுக்கான ஃப்ரீஸ்டைல் 57 கிலோ மல்யுத்த இறுதிப் போட்டியில் இரண்டு முறை உலக சாம்பியனான ஜௌர் உகுவிடம் தோற்று இந்திய மல்யுத்த வீரர் ரவி குமார் தஹியா டோக்கியோ ஒலிம்பிக் 2020ல் வெள்ளிப் பதக்கம் வென்றார்.
• சுஷில் குமாருக்குப் பிறகு, ஒலிம்பிக்கில் மல்யுத்தத்தில் இந்தியாவிற்கு வெள்ளி வென்ற இரண்டாவது ஆண் மல்யுத்த வீரர் ஆனார்.
• டோக்கியோ ஒலிம்பிக் 2020இல் இந்தியாவின் ஐந்தாவது பதக்கம் இதுவாகும்.
