Tamilnadu’s mentoring concept is the best practice

• National Health Mission selects Tamilnadu’s mentoring concept in the management of antenatal mothers as the best practice.
• Obstetricians and gynaecologists (OGs) were included in this concept.
• “Management of highrisk antenatal (AN) mothers during COVID19 pandemic”, was introduced by National Health Mission (NHM) Tamil Nadu.
• It was presented at the 7^th National Summit on Good Replicable Practices and Innovations in Public Health Care Systems in India.

Washington Sundar

• The Greater Chennai Corporation has nominated cricketer Washington Sundar as the Chennai District Election Icon for the upcoming Assembly election.
• He will promote participatory voting and ethical voting among young voters.
• Sundar will participate in events to be conducted in colleges as part of the OPEN (online participation of electoral network) campaign by the Corporation.

Ranganathaswamy temple granary

• It is located at Adhi Thiruvarangam.
• The granary is one of the few granaries in temples in Tamil Nadu.
• The granary was built during the reign of the Vijayanagara kings to store the paddy from the fields of the temple.
• Inscriptions in the temple testify to the grants given by the Vijayanagara kings for the renovation of the temple tank and lands for temple employees.

• Himachal Pradesh and Delhi had the lowest dropout rate.
• North-East and Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh had the highest dropout.
• Outside Northeast, Bihar has highest dropout.
• Among the girl children, children from SC ans ST category has shown the most dropouts.
• Dropout was more in upper primary than the primary education.

Bhima Koregaon activists release

• OCHCR (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights), Michelle Bachelet calls for the release of Bhima Koregaon activists atleast on bail.
• The Bhima Koregaon case dates back to January 1, 2018, the 200th anniversary of the Bhima Koregaon battle.
• The event was organised to celebrate the victory of the British army, which included a large number of Mahars, against Peshwa Baji Rao II’s army.
• One person was killed and several others were injured during the 2018 event.
• Several human rights activists were arrested during the event.
• Responding to Ms. Bachelet, the Ministry of External Affairs in October 2020,said, “The framing of laws is obviously a sovereign prerogative.Violations of law, however, cannot be condoned under the pretext of human rights.”

பீமா கொரிகான் செயல்வீரர்கள் விடுதலை

• OCHCR (மனித உரிமைகளுக்கான உயர் ஆணையர் அலுவலகம்), மைக்கேல் பச்லெட், பீமா கொரிகான் செயல்பாட்டாளர்களை குறைந்தபட்சம் பிணையில் விடுதலை செய்ய அழைப்பு விடுத்துள்ளார் .
• பீமா கோரேகான் வழக்கு, 2018 ஜனவரி 1  ஆம்  தேதி, பீமா கொரிகான் போரின் 200வது ஆண்டில் தொடங்கியது.
• பேஷ்வா பாஜிராவின்    இரண்டாம் படைக்கு   எதிராக,  ஏராளமான  மகர்கள்அடங்கிய பிரிட்டிஷ் ராணுவத்தின் வெற்றியைக் கொண்டாடுவதற்காக இந்நிகழ்ச்சி ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது.
• இதில் ஒருவர் பலியானார்.
• இந்த நிகழ்வின் போது மனித உரிமை ஆர்வலர்கள் பலர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டனர்.
• 2020 அக்டோபரில் வெளியுறவு அமைச்சகம் திருமதி பச்லெட்க்கு பதிலளிக்கையில், “சட்டங்களை இயற்றுவது என்பது ஒரு நாட்டின் இறையாண்மை யாகும். எவ்வாறெனினும், மனித உரிமைகள் என்ற சாக்குப்போக்குடன் சட்ட மீறல்களை ஏற்க முடியாது” எனக் குறிப்பிட்டது.

Sunderbans

• The Indian Sunderbans, which covers 4,200 sq. km.
• It also includes the Sunderban Tiger Reserve of 2,585 sq. km which is home to about 96 royal Bengal tigers (as per the last census in 2020).
• It is a world heritage site and a Ramsar site.
• One in three species of birds in India is found here.
• It has 428 species of birds, says Zoological Survey of India (ZSI).
• The year 2020 is the 125th birth anniversary year of Salim Ali, the Birdman of India.

• இந்திய சுந்தரவனக் காடுகள் 4,200 சதுர கி.மீ. அளவு விரிந்துள்ளன.
• 2,585 சதுர கிலோ மீட்டர் பரப்பளவு கொண்ட சுந்தரவன புலிகள் காப்பகமும் இதில் அடங்கும். இது  சுமார் 96 ராயல் வங்காள புலிகளை க்கொண்டுள்ளது (2020 ஆம் ஆண்டின் கணக்கெடுப்பின்படி).
• இது ஒரு உலக பாரம்பரியக் களமாகவும் ராம்சார் தளமாகவும் உள்ளது.
• இந்தியாவில் உள்ள மூன்று பறவைகளில் ஒன்று இங்கு காணப்படுகிறது.
• இதில் 428 வகையான பறவை இனங்கள் உள்ளன என்று இந்திய விலங்கியல் ஆய்வு மையம் (ZSI) கூறுகிறது.

eEPIC

• It is the electronic versions of the elector photo identity card.
• Electors will be able to download it.
• The eEPIC would be a non-editable PDF version of the EPIC that can be downloaded on the phone and stored on the DigiLocker app or printed from a computer.

இ-எபிக் (eEPIC)

• இது வாக்காளர் புகைப்பட அடையாள அட்டையின் மின்னணு பதிப்பு ஆகும்.
• வாக்காளர்கள் அதை பதிவிறக்கம் செய்ய முடியும்.
• eEPIC என்பது EPIC இன் திருத்தமுடியாத PDF பதிப்பாகும், இதை அலைபேசியில் பதிவிறக்கம் செய்து, DigiLocker ல் சேமிக்கலாம் அல்லது கணினியில் இருந்து அச்சிடப்படலாம்.

Remote voting

• Mock trials of remote voting project will be implemented soon, said CEC, Sunil Arora.
• The system is being developed by IIT Madras.
• It uses blockchain for two way remote voting at designated centres.

• தொலைநிலை வாக்குப்பதிவு திட்டத்தின் பயிற்சி சோதனைகள் விரைவில் செயல்படுத்தப்படும் என தலைமை தேர்தல் அதிகாரி சுனில் அரோரா கூறியுள்ளார்.

National Voters’ Day – January 25

• Election Commission of India was constituted on 25^th January 1950.
• It has been approved to celebrate National Voter’s Day since 2011 and the day is celebrated in every state.
• Accordingly, the state level function of India’s 11^th National Voters Day will be held in Chennai under the chairmanship of Governor Banwarilal Purohit.

தேசிய வாக்காளர் தினம் – ஜனவரி 25

• இந்தியாவில் தேர்தல் ஆணையம் 1950-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 25-ஆம் தேதியன்று அமைக்கப்பட்டது.
• கடந்த 2011-ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் தேசிய வாக்காளர் தினம் கொண்டாட ஒப்புதல் அளிக்கப்பட்டு அந்த தினம் ஒவ்வொரு மாநிலத்திலும் விழா கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
• அதன்படி, இந்தியாவின் 11-வது தேசிய வாக்காளர் தினத்தின் மாநில அளவிலான விழா ஆளுநர் பன்வாரிலால் புரோஹித் தலைமையில் சென்னையில் நடைபெற உள்ளது.

• The Head of World Tamil confederation Trust Pazha Nedumaran has said that Tamil music has a unique feature that no other music in the world has.
• On behalf of Mullivaikal Ilakkiya Muttram the Tamil Thirunal – Pongal festival was held on January
• Pazha Nedumaran introduced the book ‘Lexicon on Tamil Music Scales’, an English translation of the book Tamil Music Grand Dictionary written by Music scholar Na. Mammathu.

• The Centre has allocated additional funds of Rs.660 to Madhya Pradesh after the four reforms conditions imposed by the Centre to get special financial assistance for the states capital expenditure.
• மாநிலங்கள் மூலதன செலவுக்கான சிறப்பு நிதியுதவியை பெற மத்திய அரசு விதித்த நான்கு சீர்திருத்த நிபந்தனைகளையும் நிறைவேற்றி முடித்த மத்திய பிரதேசத்துக்கு ரூ.660 கூடுதல் நிதியை மத்திய அரசு ஒதுக்கியது.

• Madhavan, head of Hindustan Aircraft Manufacturing Company, said the handover of the Tejas light fighter jets, which are being manufactured under the Indian Air Force’s Rs 48,000 crore purchase agreement, will begin in March 2024.

• The agreement between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HSAL) and the Indian Air Force will be formally signed in the presence of President Ram Nath Kovind at the ‘Aero India’ International Air Show on February 5.

• The sandal paste ceremony was held on January 24, the main function of the 464^th Kandoori festival of Lord Nagore Dargah.

• The Kandoori festival of Lord Nagore, one of the world’s most famous places of worship, began with the flag hoisting ceremony on January 14.
• The Kandoori festival is held to commemorate the death anniversary of 16th century saint Hazrath Syed Shahul Hameed Quadir Wali, who migrated from his native Manickapur near Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh and lived in Nagore till his death.

• 32 children have been awarded the Prime Minister’s Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Award for the current year.
•  The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MOD) has said that the award was given to 7 persons in arts and culture, 9 in the innovative category, 5 in education, 7   in sports and one in social service category.

• Former Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara has been appointed as cricket director of the IPL team Rajasthan Royal.

• In the 65 kg category, Haryana player Rohit won the gold medal in men’s national freestyle wrestling.
• Praveen Chahar of Delhi won the 86 kg category in the same competition.
