NATIONAL

1. Zika virus spreads rapidly in Kerala

  • Kerala had reported cases of mosquito-borne Zika virus for the first time in 2021 in India, last week. Zika cases has been spreading rapidly since then.
  • Zika virus spreads mostly by the infected Aedes mosquito, which also spreads chikungunya and yellow fever. This mosquito can cause microcephaly and other congenital malformations in infants. Most people with Zika virus infection do not develop symptoms, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • There is no specific treatment or vaccine for the Zika virus.

 

1. கேரளாவில் ஜிகா வைரஸ் வேகமாக பரவுகிறது

  • இந்தியாவில் 2021இல் கொசுக்களால் பரவும் ஜிகா வைரஸ் இருப்பதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. அப்போதிருந்து ஜிகா பாதிப்பு வேகமாக பரவி வருகிறது.

2. Uttar Pradesh becomes India’s largest ethanol-producing state

  • Uttar Pradesh had became India’s largest ethanol-producing state, with the production of 58 crore liters of ethanol per year. India has set a target of 20% ethanol-blended fuel by 2025.

3. CII and SII sign an agreement to speed up the vaccination program in partnership with industry

  • Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has entered into an agreement with the Serum Institute of India (SII) to speed up the vaccination program in partnership with industry, including health care providers. This programme will target communities in country’s small towns and rural areas to increase the coverage.

  • According to the report:
  • The Srivilliputhur Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu has the highest leopard density (per 100 sq. km.), in Tamil Nadu and in the entire Western Ghats landscape
  • The population of leopards in Tamil Nadu is in the range of 828-908.
  • The Squirrel Sanctuary combined with Meghamalai Wildlife Sanctuary was a tiger reserve.

  • 2021 சர்வதேச புலிகள் தினத்தன்று, மத்திய சுற்றுச்சூழல், வனம் மற்றும் பருவநிலை மாற்றம் அமைச்சகம், ‘இந்தியாவில் சிறுத்தை, இணை வேட்டையாடும் விலங்குகள் மற்றும் மெகாதாவர உண்ணிகளின் நிலை- 2018’ஐ வெளியிட்டது.

5. PM Narendra Modi launches AI for All and SAFAL on the first anniversary of NEP 2020

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Artificial Intelligence for All (AI for All) and Structured Assessment for Analysing Learning (SAFAL) on 30 July 2021, the first anniversary of the National Education Policy, 2020.
  • AI for All is a four-hour microlearning course that intends to create a basic understanding of artificial intelligence amongst every citizen of India. The programme is driven by CBSE, Intel India and the Union Ministry of Education.
  • SAFAL is a competency-based assessment course for standards 3,5 and 8. It was introduced by CBSE.

 

5. பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி அனைவருக்கும் செயற்கை நுண்ணறிவு மற்றும் சஃபல் (SAFAL) திட்டத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்தார்

  • Abdulla Shahid of the Maldives was elected as the President of the 76th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). He was the first person from the Maldives to become the President at the UNGA.

  • மாலத்தீவின் அப்துல்லா ஷாஹித், ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் 76வது தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். இவர் மாலத்தீவில் இருந்து யு.என்.ஜி.ஏ.வில் தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட முதல் நபர் ஆவார்.

7. INS Saryu participates in the 36th edition of CORPAT between India and Indonesia

  • Indian Naval Ship (INS) Saryu, an indigenous Offshore Patrol Vessel, participated in the 36th Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) with Indonesian Naval Ship KRI Bung Tomo.
  • India and Indonesia have been carrying out Coordinated Patrols along the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) twice a year since 2002.

9. Caeleb Dressel makes world record in 100-metre swimming in butterfly category

  • American swimmer Caeleb Dressel finished in 49.45 seconds in 100m-etre swimming in butterfly category, breaking the record of Hungary’s Kristof Milak.
  • This is his third gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

 

9. 100 மீட்டர் நீச்சல் பட்டர்ஃபிளை பிரிவில் கேலப் டிரஸ்ஸல் உலக சாதனை படைத்துள்ளார்

  • அமெரிக்க நீச்சல் வீரர் கேலப் டிரஸ்ஸல் 100 மீட்டர் நீச்சலில் பட்டர்ஃபிளை பிரிவில் 45 விநாடிகளில் முடித்தார். இது ஹங்கேரியின் கிறிஸ்டோப் மிலாக்கின் சாதனையை முறியடித்தது.
  • டோக்கியோ ஒலிம்பிக் 2020இல் அவர் பெறும் மூன்றாவது தங்கப் பதக்கம் இதுவாகும்.

10. World Ranger Day – 31 July

  • சர்வதேச ரேஞ்சர் தினம், ஆண்டுதோறும் 31 ஜூலை அன்று கடமையின் போது காயம்பட்ட அல்லது கொல்லப்பட்ட ரேஞ்சர்கள் மற்றும் உலகின் இயற்கை மற்றும் கலாச்சார பாரம்பரியத்தை பாதுகாக்கும் ரேஞ்சர்களின் நினைவாக சர்வதேச ரேஞ்சர் கூட்டமைப்பு மூலம் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
