INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY 2018
INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY 2018
Dear Bankersdaily Aspirant,
International Women’s Day commemorates the movement for the women’s rights and s celebrated on March 8th of every year. Many inspirational women have done many inspirational things and have been a role model in this world.
Women are an inevitable part of the world and also an imminent part of the country and without them the world will not be the same as it would be. United Nations adopted the Women’s Day in the year 1975 as this was widely celebrated by the then socialist movement and communist countries. The first observance of this day was dated back to the year 1909 on February 28 in the greater known city of New York.
Then why the day March 8 was fixed as the International Women’s Day ? . There is a staunch reason for that too, as this day was suggested in the International Women’s Conference in the year 1910.
International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities. This is a day to cherish the various successful moments of the women in various fields and also a reminder that women should be given priority in all the fields.
As Maya Angelou, the famous american poet and civil rights activist quotes in a poem,
“I am a Woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal Woman,
that’s me.”
