Haryana becomes the first state to allow reimbursement of GST on ‘COVID items’ donations
- Haryana became the first state in India to allow reimbursement of goods and service tax paid by companies, non-governmental organisations and individuals on purchase of 15 items including COVID-19 vaccines, Remdesivir injections, ventilators and oxygen cylinders that they have donated free of cost to the state government or state-run hospitals.

- IDBI Bank launched its fully digitised loan processing system, offering over 50 products to MSMEs and the agriculture sector. The Loan Processing System (LPS) for MSMEs and Agri products seamlessly integrates with data fintech, bureau validations, document storage, account management and customer notifications, among others.

RBI instructs PPI operators to enable PPI interoperability by March 2022
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has instructed Pre-Paid Instrument (PPIs) operators to enable full interoperability to PPI cards and PPI e-wallets for those customers who have fulfilled the entire Know-Your-Customer (KYC) Payment companies will need to enable PPI interoperability by March 2022.
- The maximum amount outstanding in respect of full-KYC PPIs (KYC-compliant PPIs) has been increased from 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakhs.
HSBC launches its digital banking solutions ‘HSBC SmartServe’ and ‘HSBC IntelliSign’ for corporate customers
- HSBC India announced the launch of HSBC SmartServe and HSBC IntelliSign, first-of-its-kind digital solutions aimed at ensuring a quick, secure and seamless onboarding process for corporate clients.
- The API (Application Programming Interface) enabled solutions is set to provide an accelerated onboarding experience, replacing the documentation process with a digital platform.

State Bank of India partners with HyperVerge for AI-powered online account opening
- India’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), partnered with HyperVerge to achieve a whopping 10x improvement over the regular video KYC checks performed per day per agent. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) allowed banks to adopt the Video Customer Identification Process (V-CIP) from January 2020.

- India hockey team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh was appointed as a member of the FIH (International Hockey Federation) Athletes’ Committee during the virtual meeting of the world body’s Executive Board.
- The board also approved the appointment of Steve Horgan (USA) as the new chair of the FIH Rules Committee, succeeding David Collier (England).
- He has led the Indian team in the past and was one of the four new members appointed by the Executive Board, which met two days before the 47th FIH Congress.

- Emmy Award-nominated Indian choreographer Suresh Mukund has won the 10th Annual ‘World Choreography Award 2020’. He is the director and choreographer of the Indian dance crew ‘The Kings’, which won the 2019 season of World of Dance.
