IBPS PO 2017 prelims examination is nearby and there are few days left for the prelims examination and also the last date to apply for the examination is 5th September 2017. To devise a best strategy to crack the exam , knowing the cutoff marks of previous examinations is of utmost importance to the candidates. So we thought of updating the cutoff marks of previous year IBPS PO prelims in a single post to the aspirants who are vying to finalize the strategy to break the stereotypes of different sections in the prelims examinations.

IBPS RRB Scale I Officer Cutoff & Questions asked in 2016

The cutoff scores of IBPS PO has seen drastic changes in the recent year , the level of difficulty of the exams too has increased in the recent exams. So the exact and best exam strategy to clear the exam is to give equal importance to all the sections in IBPS PO exam. We will discuss the previous cutoff marks and will conclude this theory based on the observations.

IBPS PO 2015 Preliminary Examination Cutoff Marks

The individual cutoff marks for different sections in the IBPS PO 2015 for various categories are given below

The overall cutoff marks for various categories in the IBPS PO 2015 preliminary examination. This is the Overall cutoff marks which is obtained for the total 100 marks of the examination.

IBPS PO 2016 Preliminary Examination Cutoff Marks

The individual cutoff marks for different sections in the IBPS PO 2016 for various categories are given below

The overall cutoff marks for various categories in the IBPS PO 2015 preliminary examination. This is the Overall cutoff marks which is obtained for the total 100 marks of the examination.

If you keenly observe the individual cutoff marks for both the years , the individual cutoff marks have been more or less the same for the English section and Quantitative Aptitude section. There was drastic changes in the Reasoning ability cutoff marks in the individual sectional cutoff marks.

Apart from that if you observe , the overall cutoff marks (out of 100 marks) has seen an increase in the subsequent years. This is mainly determined by the total number of vacancies and also the level of difficulties of the questions asked in the exams. The overall cutoff marks is way too greater than the previous year and we can also expect the same in this year exams too because the number of vacancies is lower when compared to the previous year. ( Do note that the number of vacancies prescribed in the notification of this year IBPS PO 2017 is not final , as some banks are yet to provide the vacancies for this year exams) .

IBPS PO Prelims Cutoff marks decision

• There are negative marks for each wrong answers by the candidate and this will also affect the overall marks obtained by them in the IBPS PO prelims examination.
• There will be no marks deduction for the unanswered questions.
• The overall marks obtained by the candidate will be normalized with the process of accuracy and the total corrected answers and the total wrong answers by a suitable process and the cutoff marks will be provided with this method.
• Since the IBPS Probationary Officer Exam is conducted as a Pan India Exam , so the cutoff marks will be same for all the states.
• Candidates need to obtain the individual cutoff marks in each sections like Reasoning ability , Quantitative Aptitude and also English Language. Candidates also have to obtain the over all cutoff marks specified by the IBPS to clear the preliminary examination and to attend the mains examination.

This year SBI exams and other exams held recently would have provided you with an idea about how the IBPS PO prelims 2017 will be. Also please check the changes in the IBPS PO 2017 pattern because it is more or less the same as that of SBI PO 2017. Also in the mains examination , descriptive examination have also been added in the exams , so do take care of that too in your preparations. You have to get accustomed to the new pattern of the mains examination because at the end of the day , aspirants are vying for a place in the final list , so mere clearing the preliminary examination is not the only criteria for writing the IBPS PO 2017.
