INTRODUCTION:
Friends,Problems on ages is like Icing on the cake any one can solve the problem,because the question may not be tricky and they cannot set the difficulty level after a certain extent in this topic,So friends let us discuss some of the Question Pattern asked in Previous Exams.Before that let us have a glance on the basic’s of Ages
SOLVE PROBLEMS BASED ON AGES-LEARN SERIES
SOLVE PROBLEMS BASED ON AGES-PART-2: LEARN SERIES
1)BASED ON RATIO’S
2)BASED ON PERCENTAGE
#.1 TYPE 1:
BASED ON RATIO’S:
1)The Ratio’s of Akash & Vinesh age is 9:7.If the difference between the present age of Akash & the age of Vinesh 5 years hence is 3.Then find the sum of their Present Ages?
The Age of Akash & Vinesh=9x & 7x
Given that the difference between the age of Akash & Age of Vinesh after 5 years is 3.
=9x-(7x+5)=3
=9x-7x-5=3
=2x=8
x=4
Therefore the sum of their age is 64.
2)The ratio of Aathi & Ajay is 3:5 and sum of their age is 80 years & ratio of their ages after 10 years will be?
The ratio of Aathi & Ajay=3x & 5x
Sum of their age=3x+5x=8x=80
x=10 years
Ratio of their age after 10 years,
Aathi=30+10=40 Years
Ajay=50+10=60 Years
=40:60
=2:3
3)The difference between the Present age of Vasundhara & Varun is 12 years.If 6 years back their ages are in the ratio 3:2,how old are Vasundhara & Varun?
Given that,difference between their ages=12 years
6 Years Back:
Their ages is,
=(Vasundhara -6)/(Varun -6)=3/2
=2(Vasundhara – 6)=3(Varun- 6)
=2Vasundhara-12=3Varun-18
=2Vasundhara-3Varun=-18+12
=2Vasundhara-3Varun=-6
Given their Difference is 12
Vasundhara-Varun=12
Therefore
Age of Vasundhara=42 years
Age of Varun=30 years
PRACTICE THIS SUM:
1)The Ratio of the ages of two friends Vinu & Vishal is 7:4.If the difference between the present age of Vinu & Vishal 2 years hence is 4,then what is the sum of the present ages of Vinu & Vishal?
2)The difference of present ages of Akil & Anish is 10 years.If 4 years back their ages were in the ratio of 7:5.Find the sum of their present ages?
#.2.TYPE 2:
BASED ON PERCENTAGE:
1)A women’s age is 120% of what it was 15 years ago,but 75 % of what it will be after 15 years.What is her present age?
Let us Consider the present age be x years.Then,
15 years ago:
(x-15)
Given that the age of the women is 120% of what it was 15 years ago.
Therefore Present age
120% of (x-15)
After 15 years:
Women;s Age will be (x+15)
Given that the age of the women is 75% of what it was after 15 years.
75% of (x+15)
To Find the Present age let us equate the two equation,
120% of (x-15)=75% of (x+15)
120/100 (x-15)=75/100 (x+15)
6/5(x-15)=3/4(x+15)
6*4*(x-15)=3*5*(x+15)
24(x-15)=15(x+15)
24x-360=15x+225
9x=585
x=65

1)The Age of Man is 140% of what it was 20 years ago,but 90 % of what it will be after 10 years.What is his present age?
2)The Age of a girl is 120% of what it was 6 years ago,but 60% of what it will be after 10 years.What is his present age?
