1. World AIDS Day – 1 December

• World AIDS Day is observed on 1 December across the globe every year.
• This day aims to spread awareness against AIDS.
• This day was observed for the first time in 1988.
• Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a chronic and life-threatening disease caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) that disturbs the body’s ability to fight infections.
• The theme for World AIDS Day 2021 is ‘End Inequalities End AIDS’.

1. உலக எய்ட்ஸ் தினம் – 1 டிசம்பர்

• உலகம் முழுவதும் உலக எய்ட்ஸ் தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 1 டிசம்பர் அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
• இந்நாள் எய்ட்ஸ்க்கு எதிரான விழிப்புணர்வு பரப்புவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
• இந்நாள் முதன்முறையாக 1988இல் அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது.
• பெறப்பட்ட நோய்த் தடுப்பாற்றல் குறைவு நோய் (எய்ட்ஸ்) என்பது மனித தடைகாப்பு குறைவு வைரஸால் (எச்ஐவி) ஏற்படும் ஒரு நாள்பட்ட, உயிருக்கு ஆபத்தான நோயான இது நோய்த்தொற்றுகளை எதிர்த்துப் போராடும் உடலின் திறனை குறைக்கிறது.
• 2021ஆம் ஆண்டு உலக எய்ட்ஸ் தினத்தின் கருப்பொருள் ‘சமத்துவமின்மையை முடிவுக்குக் கொண்டுவருதல். எய்ட்ஸை முடிவுக்குக் கொண்டுவருதல்’.

TAMIL NADU

2. Union Government takes action to protect the Pallikaranai marshland

• The Union Government has stated that 46 marshlands, including the Pallikarani marshland are protected under the Ramsar Charter Agreement.
• The ‘Ramsar Charter’ is an international agreement on the protection of wetlands and their sustainable use.
• It is also known as the Charter for Wetlands.
• This agreement was signed in 1971 in the city of Ramsar in Iran.

2. பள்ளிக்கரணை சதுப்பு நிலத்தைப் பாதுகாக்க மத்திய அரசு நடவடிக்கை

• ‘ராம்சார்’ சாசன ஒப்பந்தத்தின் கீழ் பள்ளிக்கரணை சதுப்பு நிலம் உள்பட 46 சதுப்பு நிலங்கள் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக மத்திய அரசு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
• ஈர நிலங்களின் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் அவற்றின் நிலையான பயன்பாடு தொடா்பான ஒரு பன்னாட்டு ஒப்பந்தம் ‘ராம்சார்’ சாசனம் என்பதாகும்.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the Global Financial Technology Seminar

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a two-day seminar on global financial technology.
• The Commission on International Financial Services Centres in collaboration with GIFT City, a global financial and technical services terminal and Bloomberg organised this seminar on global financial technology.
• Various issues were discussed at the seminar, including how the financial technology sector can utilise technology and innovation to grow and serve humanity to a greater extent for all.
• More than 70 countries participated in this seminar.

4. Border Security Force celebrates its 57^th Raising Day

• The Border Security Force (BSF) commemorated its 57^th Raising Day on 1 December.
• BSF ensures security on the borders and commitment towards the nation on this occasion.
• BSF, established on 1 December 1965, it is a paramilitary force charged with guarding India’s land borders during peacetime and preventing transnational crimes.
• It is under the administrative control of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA).
• It currently stands as the world’s largest border guarding force.

4. எல்லை பாதுகாப்பு படை தனது 57வது எழுச்சி தினத்தை கொண்டாடியது

• எல்லைப் பாதுகாப்புப் படை (BSF) 1 டிசம்பர் அன்று தனது 57வது எழுச்சி தினத்தை நினைவுகூர்ந்தது.
• இந்த நாளில் எல்லை பாதுகாப்பு படை எல்லைகளில் பாதுகாப்பையும், தேசத்தின் மீதான அர்ப்பணிப்பையும் உறுதி செய்கிறது.

5. Admiral R. Harikumar  takes charge as the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Navy

• Admiral R. Harikumar assumes charge as the 25^th Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Navy.
• Admiral Karambir Singh retired as the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Navy. Following this, Admiral R. Harikumar took over as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Navy.
• He joined the Indian Navy on 1 January 1983.

5. இந்திய கடற்படையின் தலைமைத் தளபதியாக அட்மிரல் ஆா். ஹரிகுமாா் பொறுப்பேற்றார்

• இந்திய கடற்படையின் 25வது தலைமைத் தளபதியாக அட்மிரல் ஆா். ஹரிகுமாா் பொறுப்பேற்றாா்.

6. Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Mago takes over as the Commandant of the National Defence College

• Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Mago took over as the 34^th Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC).
• Previously, Air Marshal D. Choudhury was the Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC).
• He was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal and the Sena Medal (Twice) for his distinguished services.

9. Messi and Alexia were awarded the 2021 Ballon d’Or award

• In the men’s category, Lionel Messi of Argentina and in the women’s category, Alexis Puttelas of Spain won the 2021 Ballon d’Or award, the most prestigious award in the world of football.
• In this, Messi has won this award for the seventh time and has created a record.
• Alexia Puttelas won the UEFA Champions ‘Player of the Year’ Award last August.
• She is the third woman athlete to win the Ballon d’Or Award.

10. Telugu film lyricist ‘Sirivennela’ Seetharama Sastry passed away

• Telugu lyricist and Padma Shri awardee Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry passed away. He was 66.
• He won eleven Nandi awards given by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and four Filmfare awards.
• He was also honoured with the Padma Shri in 2019 for his contribution to the film world and literature.

10. தெலுங்கு திரைப்பட பாடலாசிரியர் ‘சிறிவெண்ணெலா’ சீதாராம சாஸ்திரி காலமானார்

• தெலுங்கு பாடலாசிரியரும், பத்மஸ்ரீ விருது பெற்றவருமான சிறிவெண்ணெலா சீதாராம சாஸ்திரி காலமானார். அவருக்கு வயது
• ஆந்திரப் பிரதேச அரசு வழங்கிய பதினொரு நந்தி விருதுகளையும், நான்கு பிலிம்ஃபேர் விருதுகளையும் அவர் வென்றுள்ளார்.
