Dhannipur Mosque Project

• It is located in Uttar Pradesh.
• The project is being carried on the plot allotted by the Uttar Pradesh government on the directions of the Supreme Court in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case.
• Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) overseed the construction of the mosque.
• The project is divided into three parts

1. A Mosque based on a modern design.
2. A Multispeciality 200-bed hospital and community kitchen.

Anna Gallantry Awards

• ‘Anna Medal for Gallantry’ is awarded by the Government of Tamil Nadu for Civilians/Government Servants for their conspicuous acts of gallantry in saving life, property, etc.
• The applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu alone are eligible for this award.
• Six medals on average, with three (3) medals for the general public and three (3) for Government servants will be awarded in a year.
• There is no age limit for receipt of the medal.
• This award consists cheque for Rs.1,00,000 (one lakh), a medal worth Rs.9000, and a citation.

India’s growth projection by International Monetary Fund (IMF)

• According to IMF, in 2020 China is the only major country which registered a positive growth rate of 2.3%.
• India’s growth is projected to 11.5% in 2021.
• This makes India, the only major economy to register double digit growth in the year 2021 amidst the COVID19.
• This has reflected a rebound in the economy, which is estimated to have contracted by 8% in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Economic Outlook Survey – FICCI ( Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries)

• It is the annual median growth forecast by the industry body is based on responses from leading economists representing industry, banking and financial services sectors.
• India’s GDP is expected to contract by 8% in 2020 -21.
• The median growth forecast for agriculture and allied activities has been pegged at 3.5% for 2020-21.
• Higher rabi acreage, good monsoons, higher reservoir levels and strong growth in tractor sales indicate continued sustainability in the agri sector.
• Some of the contact intensive service sectors like tourism, hospitality, entertainment, education, and health sector are yet to be normal.
• The quarterly median forecasts indicate GDP growth to contract by 1.3% in the third quarter of 2020-21.
• The growth is expected to be positive by the fourth quarter with a projection of 0.5% growth.

• He was a former Indian football goalkeeper.
• Prasanta made his national debut in 1999 against Thailand in the Olympic qualifiers.

• He battled with ‘Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis’, a rare blood disease.
• He had earned five international caps.
• Prasanta also represented Bengal in Santosh Trophy.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)

• It is a severe systemic inflammatory syndrome that can be fatal.
• It is a rare blood disease.
• It is of two types – Primary and Secondary.

Primary HLH

• HLH that occurs due to specific genetic defects is called Primary HLH.
• Primary HLH is also sometimes called Familial HLH.
• If not detected and treated, primary HLH is usually fatal, typically within a few months.
• Even with treatment, the prognosis is sometimes only a few years, unless a bone marrow transplant can be successfully performed.

Secondary HLH

• This causes a strong activation of the immune system, such as infection or cancer.
• This is called Secondary HLH.
• If secondary HLH is detected promptly and treated aggressively, the prognosis may be better.

• It is a part of Rashtriya Gokuk Mission.

• Guru Pushyam Festival at Sriperumbudur Adikesava Perumal Temple was held on January 26 at Ramanujar Veedhi ula at Golden Palanquin.
• Gurupushyam is celebrated in this temple on the day of Thaipusam (Thai Pushyam), the day on which the idol of Ramanujar is consecrated, and the two days preceding it.

• ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூர் ஆதிகேசவப் பெருமாள் கோயிலில் குரு புஷ்யம் விழா ஜனவரி 26 அன்று தங்கப் பல்லக்கில் ராமானுஜர் வீதிஉலா நடைபெற்றது.
• இக்கோயிலில் ராமானுஜரின் விக்ரகத்தை பிரதிஷ்டை செய்த தினமான தைப்பூசம் (தை புஷ்யம்) தினத்தன்றும், அதற்கு முந்தைய இரண்டு நாள்களும் குருபுஷ்யம் விழாவாகக் கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

• Republic Day was celebrated on January 26 at Ripon Palace on behalf of The Corporation of Chennai. Commissioner G. Prakash hoisted the national flag and paid his respects.
• பெருநகர சென்னை மாநகராட்சி சார்பில் ரிப்பன் மாளிகையில் குடியரசு தினவிழா ஜனவரி 26 கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. இதில் ஆணையர் கோ.பிரகாஷ் தேசிய கோடியை ஏற்றி வைத்து மரியாதை செலுத்தினார்.

• Kesavasamy, a puppet artist from Karaikal, has received the Padma Shri award for puppetry.
