TAMIL NADU

1. The first session of the 16th Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu commences

  • Governor Banwarilal Purohit addressed and inaugurated the first meeting of the new Assembly after the legislative assembly elections of Tamil Nadu.
  • The meeting was held at Kalaivanar Arangam, Chennai.
  • After the Governor had read his speech in English, it was read out in Tamil by the Speaker of the Council, Appavu.
  • In this session, a motion of thanks to the Governor’s address will be proposed and addressed by members of the Council.
  • The 16th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly has a total of 234 members.

  • 16ஆவது தமிழகசட்டப்பேரவையில் மொத்தம் 234 உறுப்பினா்கள் உள்ளனர்.

2. Tamil Nadu Economic Advisory Council to the Chief Minister to be constituted

  • Governor Banwarilal Purohit said at the first session of the 16th Legislative Assembly, Tamil Nadu government will constitute an ‘Economic Advisory council to the Chief Minister’.
  • Based on the recommendations of this Council, the government will revitalise the state’s economy and ensure that the benefits of economic growth reach all segments of society.

  2. Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan
  3. Former Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian

2. முதலமைச்சருக்கான தமிழ்நாடு பொருளாதார ஆலோசனைக் குழு அமைக்கப்படவுள்ளது

  • 16வது தமிழ்நாடு சட்டமன்றத்தின் முதல் அமர்வில் தமிழக ஆளுநர் பன்வாரிலால் புரோஹித் “முதலமைச்சருக்கான தமிழ்நாடு பொருளாதார ஆலோசனைக் குழு” அமைக்கப்படும் என கூறினார்.

3. Summer solstice – 21 June

  • Summer solstice is the longest day of the summer for those living north of the Equator. It occurs on 21 June every year, when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Cancer.

4. Union minister Thaawarchand Gehlot announces the establishment of five ’Divyangta Khel Kendras’ in India

  • Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot announced the establishment of five ‘Divyangta Khel Kendras’ in different parts of the country. It aims to facilitate the Divyangjan community’s good performance in
  • Right to Persons with Disability Act, 2016 provided more security and also ensures and protects the fundamental rights of the person with disabilities across the nation.

 

4. மத்திய அமைச்சர் தாவர்சந்த் கெலாட் இந்தியாவில் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்காக 5 விளையாட்டு மையங்கள் அறிவித்துள்ளார்

  • நாட்டின்பல பகுதிகளில் 5 ‘மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்கான விளையாட்டு மையங்கள்’  அமைக்கப்படுவதற்கான அறிவிப்பை மத்திய சமூக நீதி மற்றும் மேம்பாட்டுத்துறை அமைச்சர் தாவர்சந்த் கெலாட் வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். பாராலிம்பிக்கில் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளின் நல்ல செயல்திறனை வெளிப்படுத்துவதை இது நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
  • மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் உரிமை சட்டம், 2016 மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கு அதிக பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் அடிப்படை உரிமைகளையும் உறுதி செய்கிறது. 

5. Ministry of Tribal Affairs and NCERT jointly conducts NISHTHA

  • Ministry of Tribal Affairs and NCERT completed a joint mission, NISHTHA Capacity Building Programme for EMRS Teachers and Principals. It aims to achieve academic excellence in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) by building competencies among teachers and school principals and improving the quality of school education through integrated teacher training.   
  • The first batch of 120 EMRS teachers and principals were from 3 states – Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is a national apex education body.

 

5. பழங்குடியினர் விவகார அமைச்சகம் மற்றும் NCERT இணைந்து நிஷ்தாவை (NISHTHA) நடத்துகிறது

  • முதலில் இமாச்சலப் பிரதேசம், மத்தியப் பிரதேசம் மற்றும் சத்தீஸ்கர் ஆகிய 3 மாநிலங்களைச் சேர்ந்த 120 EMRS ஆசிரியர்கள் மற்றும் முதல்வர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர். தேசிய கல்வி ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் பயிற்சி கவுன்சில் (NCERT) ஒரு தேசிய தலைமை கல்வி அமைப்பாகும். 

6. 25 Fit India Yoga centers to be established on the International Day of Yoga

  • On the International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2021, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Minister of the Ministry of Ayush, Kiren Rijiju, announced the launch of 25 Fit India Yoga Centres across 9 states.
  • Fit India Mission and the Ministry of Ayush, has identified and recognised 25 Yoga Centers as ‘Fit India Yoga Centres’ across the country. These Yoga centres would be presented with a Fit India Certificate officially recognising this association.

Fit India Yoga Centres from Tamil Nadu:

  1. Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram           – Chennai, Tamilnadu
  2. Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram – Madurai, Tamil Nadu

 

6. சர்வதேச யோகா தினத்தில் 25 ஃபிட் இந்தியா யோகா மையங்கள் நிறுவப்பட உள்ளன

  • சர்வதேச யோகா தினம் 21 ஜூன் 2021 அன்று, மத்திய இளைஞர் விவகாரங்கள் மற்றும் விளையாட்டுத் துறை அமைச்சரும், மத்திய ஆயுஷ் அமைச்சகத்தின் அமைச்சருமான கிரண் ரிஜிஜு, 9 மாநிலங்களில் 25 ஃபிட் இந்தியா யோகா மையங்களைத் தொடங்குவதாக அறிவித்தார்.
  • ஃபிட் இந்தியா திட்டம் மற்றும் ஆயுஷ் அமைச்சகம், நாடு முழுவதும் 25 யோகா மையங்களை ‘ஃபிட் இந்தியா யோகா மையங்கள்’ என்று அங்கீகரித்துள்ளது. இந்த யோகா மையங்களை அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக அங்கீகரித்து ஃபிட் இந்தியா சான்றிதழ் வழங்கப்படும்.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள ஃபிட் இந்தியா யோகா மையங்கள்:

  1. கிருஷ்ணமாச்சார்யா யோக மந்திரம் –  சென்னை, தமிழ்நாடு                       
  2. சிவானந்த யோக வேதாந்த மீனாட்சி ஆசிரமம் – மதுரை, தமிழ்நாடு

7. Transgender ID portal is now available in regional languages

  • Transgender ID portal of the Union Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry was made available in 10 languages.
  • The portal was launched on 25 November 2020 for facilitating the application of certificates of identity for transgender persons.
  • The portal is available in Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, apart from English.
  • The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 guarantees a transperson the right to self-perceived gender identity and a certificate of that identity from the government.

 

7. திருநங்கை அடையாள வலைத்தளம் தற்போது பிராந்திய மொழிகளில் செயல்படுகிறது

  • மத்திய சமூக நீதி மற்றும் அதிகாரமளித்தல் அமைச்சகத்தின் திருநங்கை அடையாள வலைத்தளம் 10 மொழிகளில் செயல்படுகிறது.
  • திருநங்கைகளுக்கான அடையாளச் சான்றிதழ்களைப் பெறுவதற்காக இந்த வலைத்தளம் 25 நவம்பர் 2020 அன்று தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
  • இந்த வலைத்தளம் ஆங்கிலம் தவிர வங்காளம், குஜராத்தி, கன்னடம், மலையாளம், மராத்தி, ஒடியா, பஞ்சாபி, தமிழ், தெலுங்கு மற்றும் இந்தி ஆகிய மொழிகளில் செயல்படுகிறது.
  • திருநங்கைகள் (உரிமைகள் பாதுகாப்பு) சட்டம், 2019 ஒரு திருநங்கை சுயமாக உணரப்பட்ட பாலின அடையாள உரிமை மற்றும் அரசாங்கத்திடமிருந்து அடையாள சான்றிதழ் பெற அனுமதிக்கிறது.

8. Ebrahim Raisi becomes the President of Iran

  • Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi becomes the President of Iran. He would succeed Hassan Rouhani as the next Iran President.
  • He contested in 2017 election but lost to Rouhani. He was appointed as the Chief Justice in 2019.

 

8. ஈரான் அதிபரானார் இப்ராஹிம் ரைசி

  • ஈரானின் தலைமை நீதிபதியான இப்ராஹிம் ரைசி ஈரான் அதிபரானார்.  ஹசன் ருஹானிக்குப் பிறகு  அடுத்த ஈரான் அதிபராக அவர் பதவியேற்பார்.
  • அவர் 2017 தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட்டார், ஆனால் ருஹானியிடம் தோல்வியடைந்தார். அவர் 2019இல் தலைமை நீதிபதியாக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.

REPORTS AND INDICES

9. First of its kind study on the Cost of Illness and Treatment of Oral Cancer in India released

  • Tata Memorial Centre published the first of its kind study on the Cost of Illness and Treatment of Oral Cancer in India. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally. Approximately 70% of cancer cases occurs in low and middle-income countries. India accounted for almost a third of the global incidence of oral cavity cancer in 2020, which is most common among men. 

Highlights of the report:

  • India spent approximately 2386 crores in 2020 on oral cancer treatment.
  • The unit cost of treating advanced stages (Rs. 2,02,892) was found to be 42% greater than early stages (Rs. 1,17,135). There was an average reduction of 11% in the unit costs, as socioeconomic status increased.
  • Medical equipment accounted for 8% of capital costs.
  • Variable costs that included consumables for surgery in advanced stages were 1.4 times higher than in early stages.
  • With the addition of additional chemo and radiotherapy to surgery, the average cost of treatment increased by 44.6%. 
  • About 60-80% of the cases of oral cancer visit their specialist oncologists at advanced stages, multiplying the cost per unit of early and advanced cancer.
  • India spent approximately 2386 crores in 2020 on oral cancer treatment, paid for by insurance schemes, government and private sector spending, out-of-pocket payments and charitable donations or a combination of these.
  • Without any inflation in costs, this will result in an economic burden on the country of 23,724 crores over the next ten years.

 

9. இந்தியாவிலேயே முதன்முறையாக வாய்வழி புற்றுநோய்க்கான செலவு குறித்த ஆய்வு முடிவு வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது

  • டாட்டா நினைவக மையம் இந்தியாவிலேயே முதன்முறையாக வாய்வழி புற்றுநோய்க்கான செலவு குறித்த ஆய்வு முடிவு வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. உலகளவில்உயிரிழப்புகள் ஏற்படுவதற்கு புற்றுநோய் இரண்டாவது முக்கிய காரணமாக இருப்பதாக உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பு தெரிவித்துள்ளது. சுமார் 70% புற்றுநோய் பாதிப்புகள் குறைந்த மற்றும் நடுத்தர நாடுகளில் ஏற்படுகிறது. 2020ஆம் ஆண்டில் உலக வாய்வழி புற்றுநோயில் கிட்டத்தட்ட மூன்றில் ஒரு பங்கை இந்தியா கொண்டிருந்தது. இந்தியாவில் ஆண்களிடையே வாய் புற்றுநோய் அதிகரித்து வருகிறது.

ஆய்வின் சிறப்பம்சங்கள்:

  • 2020ஆம் ஆண்டில் வாய்புற்றுநோய் சிகிச்சைக்காக இந்தியா சுமார் ரூ. 2386 கோடி செலவழித்தது.
  • நோய்முற்றிய நிலையில் உள்ள நோயாளிகளுக்கு அளிக்கப்படும் சிகிச்சைக்கான கட்டணம் (ரூ. 2,02,892), முதல் கட்ட சிகிச்சைக்குத் தேவைப்படும் கட்டணத்தைவிட (ரூ. 1,17,135) 42% அதிகமானது. அதே வேளையில் சமூகப் பொருளாதார நிலை உயரும்போது                    ஒருவருக்கான கட்டணத்தில் சராசரியாக 11% குறைகிறது.

  • அறுவைசிகிச்சையுடன் கீமோ மற்றும் கதிரியக்க                                 சிகிச்சையுடன் சேர்த்து சராசரியாக6 சதவீதத் தொகை அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
  • வாய்புற்றுநோய் நோயாளிகளில் சுமார் 60-80% மேம்பட்ட கட்டங்களில்தான் சிறப்பு புற்றுநோயியல் நிபுணர்களைப் அணுகுகிறார்கள், இது ஆரம்ப மற்றும் மேம்பட்ட புற்றுநோயின் ஒரு அலகுக்கான செலவைப் பெருக்குகிறது.

10. Shafali Verma holds the record for the highest sixes in a single Test match in women cricket

  • Shafali Verma hit 2 sixes in the first innings of the Test match and 1 six in the second innings.
  • She has set a record for the highest number of sixes in a single Test in women’s cricket. She also became the youngest player to score two half-centuries in a Test.

  • ஷஃபாலி வர்மா டெஸ்ட் போட்டியின் முதல் இன்னிங்ஸில் 2 சிக்ஸர்கள் மற்றும் இரண்டாம் இன்னிங்ஸில் 1 சிக்ஸர் அடித்தார்.
  • அவர் மகளிர் கிரிக்கெட்டில் ஒரே டெஸ்டில் அதிக சிக்ஸர்கள் அடித்தவர் என்கிற சாதனையைப் படைத்துள்ளார். மேலும் ஒரு டெஸ்டில் இரு அரை சதங்கள் எடுத்த இளம் வீரர் என்கிற பெருமையையும் அவர் அடைந்துள்ளார்.

11. Father’s Day – 20 June

  • Father’s Day is celebrated every year on the third Sunday of June in India. This year the day falls on 20 June. A mining accident happened in the United States on 5 July 1908 and killed hundreds of men. This led to the day being celebrated for the first time.
  • Grace Golden, the daughter of a reverend proposed a Sunday service for all the men who lost their lives in the accident. Thus, that Sunday has been selected to celebrate Father’s Day.

 

11. தந்தையர் தினம் – 20 ஜூன்

  • இந்தியாவில் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜூன் மூன்றாவது ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை தந்தையர் தினமாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்த ஆண்டு அது 20 ஜூன் அன்று கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. 5 ஜூலை 1908 அன்று அமெரிக்காவில் ஒரு சுரங்க விபத்து நடந்ததில் நூற்றுக்கணக்கான ஆண்கள் கொல்லப்பட்டனர். இதுவே முதல் முறையாக இந்த நாள் கொண்டாடப்படுவதற்கு வழிவகுத்தது.
  • ஒரு பாதிரியாரின் மகள் கிரேஸ் கோல்டன் விபத்தில் உயிரிழந்த அனைத்து ஆண்களுக்கும் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை இறைசேவையை முன்மொழிந்தார். இவ்வாறு, தந்தையர் தினத்தைக் கொண்டாட மூன்றாவது ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

12. International Yoga Day – 21 June

  • International Yoga Day is observed on 21 June every year.
  • United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) approved the day in 2015 to promote awareness about the benefits of yoga across the world.
  • Theme 2021: ”Yoga for wellness”

 

12. சர்வதேச யோகா தினம் – 21 ஜூன்

  • ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 21 ஜூன் அன்று சர்வதேச யோகா தினம் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • உலகெங்கிலும் யோகாவின் நன்மைகள் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை ஊக்குவிக்க ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் பொதுச் சபை (UNGA) 2015ஆம் ஆண்டில் இந்த நாளுக்கு ஒப்புதல் அளித்தது.

13. World Music Day – 21 June

  • ‘World Music Day’ is celebrated every year on 21 June. The day was first celebrated in France in 1982. Every year, it is celebrated on the day of the summer solstice, which is 21 June.

 

13. உலக இசை தினம் – 21 ஜூன்

  • ‘உலக இசை தினம்‘ ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 21 ஜூன் அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்த நாள் முதன்முதலில் 1982இல் பிரான்சில் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும், இது கோடை சங்கிராந்தியான 21 ஜூன் அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
