1. Tamil writer Ki Rajanarayanan passed away at the age of 98 in Puducherry

• Tamil writer Ki. Rajanarayanan died in Puducherry at the age of 98. He was fondly known as KiRa. He was admired as a folklorist and known as ‘Father of Karisal Literature’ (black soil land).
• He was a recipient of Sahitya Akademy award for his novel ‘Gopalapurathu Makkal’ in the year 1991. His first short story ‘Mayamaan’ was published in 1959 in the magazine Saraswathi.
• His novel ‘Kidai’ was converted into a film and was screened at the International Film Festival of India in 2003.

• 1991ஆம் ஆண்டில் ‘கோபாலபுரத்து மக்கள்‘ நாவலுக்காக சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருது பெற்றார். அவரது முதல் சிறுகதை ‘மாயமான்‘ 1959இல் சரஸ்வதி இதழில் வெளியிடப்பட்டது.
• அவரது ‘கிடாய்‘ நாவல் திரைப்படமாக எடுக்கப்பட்டு 2003ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழாவில் திரையிடப்பட்டது.

2. Chandigarh startup develops world’s first private digital court

• Jupitice Justice Technologies, a Chandigarh-based startup has developed the world’s first private digital court under the Private Justice System (Alternative Dispute Resolution or ADR Mechanism). ADR mechanisms are quick, cost-effective mutual settlement.

3. Government brings changes in existing Customs Rules, IGCR 2017 to boost trade

• The Government has brought changes in IGCR 2017 through the Customs (Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty) Amendment Rules, 2021 to boost trade facilitation.
• The IGCR, 2017 lay down the procedures and way an importer can avail the benefit of a concessional Customs duty on import of goods required for domestic production of goods or providing services. However, some sectors such as gold, jewellery, precious stones and metals have been excluded.

3. வர்த்தகத்தை அதிகரிக்க தற்போதுள்ள சுங்க விதிகள், IGCR, 2017இல் அரசு மாற்றங்களைக் கொண்டு வருகிறது

• வர்த்தக வசதியை அதிகரிக்க சுங்க (சலுகை வரி விகிதத்தில் பொருட்களை இறக்குமதி செய்தல்) திருத்த விதிகள் 2021 மூலம் IGCR 2017இல் அரசு மாற்றங்களைக் கொண்டு வந்துள்ளது.

4. Amphotericin-B to provide relief to patients suffering from Mucormycosis

• The Central Government has increased the production of Amphotericin B to provide relief to the patients suffering from Mucormycosis.
• Mucormycosis is also known as Black Fungus that affects people who are suffering from diabetes. The fungal infection Mucormycosis mainly affects people who are on medication that reduces their ability to fight environmental pathogens.

• நீரிழிவு நோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களை பாதிக்கும் கருப்பு பூஞ்சை முகோர்மைகோசிஸ் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. பூஞ்சை தொற்றான முகோர்மைகோசிஸ் முக்கியமாக சுற்றுச்சூழல் நோய்க்கிருமிகளை எதிர்த்துப் போராடும் திறனைக் குறைத்து மருந்துகளை உட்கொண்டவர்களை பாதிக்கிறது.

5. Shiv Sunder Das appointed as the batting coach of the Indian women’s cricket team

• Former Test opener Shiv Sunder Das has been appointed as the batting coach of the Indian women’s cricket team only for the upcoming seven-match tour of England.
• Former Indian Railways player Abhay Sharma has been appointed as the fielding coach.
• Ramesh Powar has already been appointed as the Chief coach of the Indian women’s cricket team.

6. Manipur launches mobile app “MOMA Market” for home delivering vegetables

• Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh launched a mobile application, “MOMA Market” for home delivery of fresh vegetables. The mobile application can be downloaded from momamarket.com and it will also be available on Google Play Store.

7. Iran develops its first completely self-developed supercomputer “Simorgh”

• Iran’s new supercomputer “Simorgh” will provide large-scale data processing services for a range of state-run and private scientific research.
• It will also be used for artificial intelligence analysis, traffic and weather data, and image processing, among other things.
• The supercomputer was developed indigenously by Tehran’s Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT). The supercomputer has a performance capacity of 56 petaflops.

9. Former Union Minister Chaman Lal Gupta passed away at 87

• Former Union Minister Chaman Lal Gupta passed away due to prolonged illness. He was a member of the J&K Legislative Assembly for the first time in 1972.
• He served as a Union Minister of State, Union Ministry of Civil Aviation, Union Minister of State (independent charge), Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries and Union Minister of State for Defence.
