The ruling was delivered by a rare nine-member bench and is based on an array of petitions that challenge the mandatory use of Aadhaar cards which assign a unique 12-digit ID to every citizen.The bench, headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar, ruled privacy was part of the fundamental right to life and personal liberty guaranteed to all citizens under Article 21 of the Constitution.

Indian Army will finally get an advanced Medium-Range Surface To Air Missile (MRSAM) system by 2020 and will be produced by premier defence research organisation DRDO in collaboration with the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has signed a Rs 17,000 crore deal with the IAI for the ambitious project. The MR-SAM, a land-based version of the long-range surface-to-air missile (LRSAM) for the Navy, will have a strike range of up 70 km.
