World’s largest khadi tricolour Indian flag was unveiled in Ladakh
- World’s largest khadi tricolour Indian national flag,which is 225-feet long and 150-feet wide, weighing around 1,000 kg was installed at Leh in Ladakh on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti by Lieutenant Governor R. K. Mathur.

Former Indian hockey striker S. V. Sunil announces retirement
- The veteran forward and star striker of India men’s field hockey team V. Sunil announced his retirement from international hockey.
- He is an Arjuna awardee from Somwarpet in Coorg. He made a memorable international debut in 2007 at the Asia Cup in 2007 and was a part of the Indian team that won the gold medal in the 2011 Asian Champions Trophy and the silver medal in the same event in 2012.

Gujarati actor Ghanshyam Nayak passed away
- Veteran Gujarati actor Ghanshyam Nayak popularly known for his role of Natukaka in the television serial ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ultah Chashma’ passed away at the age of 77.
- He belonged to the Mehsana district of North Gujarat and later settled in Mumbai.
