India’s 1st Tribal Tourism Circuit Launched in Chhattisgarh
India’s first tribal tourism circuit was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Tourism K J Alphons in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh.
The tourism circuit is being developed under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. It covers 13 sites. The project is being developed by Chhattisgarh Tourism Board.
The central government had allocated about 100 crore rupees to develop this project to highlight tribal culture to the domestic and foreign tourists.
The objective of the Tribal Tourism Circuit is to showcase the state’s rich and diverse tribal culture and traditions to the tourists.

CCEA approves 100% Electrification of Railways by 2021-22
The PM-led Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved 100 percent electrification of the Indian Railways, tentatively by 2021-22.
This will make Indian Railways one of the largest electrified railway networks in the world — after China, which has 87,000 km (around 68 percent of its network) electrified — and the only large railway with 100 percent electrification.
Currently, around 48 per cent of the India’s 61,680 km broad gauge railway network is electrified.
Nuakhai : Festival of harvest was celebrated in western Odisha

Siddhi app unveiled hits: Developed by DestaGlobal
The app Siddhi, was unveiled by a Mumbai-based start-up earlier this year is bringing farmers and dealers of agricultural equipment under one roof.
It was launched on July 1 by DestaGlobal. It is an agritech e-commerce company, which has been working with farmers in the State since 2011.
The offers and services provided by the app are selling and buying of raw materials like seed, machinery, interconnected farming community that shares progressive farming techniques etc.,
Union Minister of Textiles gives ‘Shilp Guru’ & National Award to Master Craft Persons
The Union Minister of Textiles Smriti Zubin Irani has presented ‘Shilp Guru’ and National Award to Master craft persons at a function held at Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.
Eight ‘Shilp guru’ and 25 National awards were presented for the year 2016. Shilp Guru’ is the highest award in the Handicraft sector in India.
The handicraft export has witnessed a year-on-year growth and in the last four years, handicraft items worth Rs. 1 lakh 26 thousand crores had been exported from India.
Index Of Industrial Production Grows At 6.6% In July
The Index industrial production (IIP) of India grew at 6.6 percent in July on the back of good performance by the manufacturing sector and higher offtake of capital goods and consumer durables.
Factory output measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production had expanded by just 1 per cent in July last year, ac
cording to the data released by Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The IIP growth for June was also revised downwards to 6.8 percent from the provisional estimate of 7 percent released last month.
The IIP growth in April-July period was 5.4 per cent compared to 1.7 per cent year ago.
Cisco signs agreements with NITI, BSNL
Cisco, a U.S.-based firm, that makes networking telecommunications equipment, has signed two agreements with the NITI Aayog and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to speed up its Country Digital Acceleration programme in India.
Cisco has made over 25 strategic investments in growth stage companies in India.The agreement with NITI Aayog is to boost connectivity and collaboration across all 100 Atal Incubation Centers in the country.
Cisco signed an agreement with BSNL to set up a dedicated location to demonstrate use cases using 5G to solve citizen problems in areas such as education, healthcare and agriculture using technologies such as IoT, surveillance, and Artificial Intelligence.

3 day 4th Eastern Economic Forum was held in Vladivostok, Russia
The three day Eastern Economic Forum began in Russian far city Vladivostok.

Sawai Singh to be honoured with Meera Puraskar
The Jaipur-based poet and writer Sawai Singh Shekhawat will be honoured with Meera Puraskar by Rajasthan Sahitya Academy for his contribution to Hindi literature.
He also announced other awards to be given for the year 2018-19 at a function in October.

OBITUARY
Freedom fighter Goura Chandra Mohapatra passes away
The Veteran freedom fighter Goura Chandra Mohapatra has passed away.
Mohapatra was the son of poet ‘Kantakabi’ Laxmikanta Mohapatra, who penned the famous song “Bande Utkal Janani.”
During the freedom struggle, he was the youngest prisoner lodged in Berhampur Circle Jail in 1942.
