1.Comesa (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa)

• It was formed on December 8, 1994.
• It consists of 19 countries.

1. Comesa (கிழக்கு மற்றும் தெற்கு ஆபிரிக்காவிற்கான பொது சந்தை)

• இவ்வமைப்பு 1994 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.
• இதில் 19 நாடுகள் உள்ளன.

2.India Africa Trade Council

• Director – B. Ramakrishnan.
• It will establish the India Africa film commission to facilitate shootings as a beginning.
• An Africa Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will be set up at Kolar.

2.இந்தியா ஆப்ரிக்கா வர்த்தக கவுன்சில் (IATC)

• இயக்குநர் – பி.ராமகிருஷ்ணன்.
• படப்பிடிப்புகளுக்கு உதவும் வகையில் இந்தியா ஆப்ரிக்கா திரைப்படக்குழு முதலில் நிறுவப்படும்.
• கோலாரில் ஆப்பிரிக்கா சிறப்பு பொருளாதார மண்டலம் (SEZ) அமைக்கப்படும்.

3. Horizontal Reservation

• Horizontal Reservation cuts through vertical reservations.
• Example: OBC reservation is vertical and reservation for women within OBC is horizontal reservation.
• Puducherry Cabinet’s decided to provide 10% horizontal reservation for government school students.
• It may affect the merit-based entry through NEET.
• States don’t have the legislative power to reserve medical seats.
• Though ‘medical education’ falls under the concurrent list, ‘determination of minimum standards in institutions for higher education’ fell under the Union list.
• So, any legislation passed by a State government with regard to medical admissions would be subject to Centre’s power to determine minimum standards.

3. கிடைமட்ட ஒதுக்கீடு

• கிடைமட்ட இட ஒதுக்கீடு செங்குத்து ஒதுக்கீட்டிற்குள் ஒதுக்கப்படுகிறது.
• உதாரணம்: இதர பிற்படுத்தப்பட்டோர் இட ஒதுக்கீடு செங்குத்து ஒதுக்கீடு ஆகும் மற்றும் இதர பிற்படுத்தப்பட்டோரிலுள்ள பெண்களுக்கான இட ஒதுக்கீடு கிடைமட்ட ஒதுக்கீடு ஆகும்.
• அரசு பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கு 10 சதவீத இட ஒதுக்கீடு வழங்க புதுச்சேரி அமைச்சரவை முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
• இது தகுதித்தேர்வு – மூலம் செய்யப்படும் நீட் நுழைவு பாதிக்கலாம்.
• மருத்துவ இடங்களை ஒதுக்குவதற்கு சட்டமியற்றும் அதிகாரம் மாநிலங்களுக்கு இல்லை.
• ‘மருத்துவக் கல்வி’ என்பது பொதுப் பட்டியலின் கீழ் வந்தாலும், ‘உயர்கல்விக்கான குறைந்தபட்ச தர நிர்ணயங்களை நிர்ணயிப்பது’ என்பது, மத்திய பட்டியலின் கீழ் தான் உள்ளது.
• எனவே, மருத்துவ மாணவர் சேர்க்கை தொடர்பாக மாநில அரசு கொண்டு வரும் எந்த சட்டமும் குறைந்தபட்ச தர நிர்ணயத்தை நிர்ணயிக்கும் மத்திய அரசின் அதிகாரத்துக்கு உட்பட்டதாக இருக்கும்.

4. Removal of Speaker

• Kerala assembly rejected the motion to remove the Speaker.
• The tenure of the Speaker is coterminous with the house i.e.,5 years.
• He can be removed through a resolution passed by an effective majority (more than 50% of the total strength of the house present and voting).
• He can also be removed on getting disqualified as an assembly member under the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

4. சபாநாயகரை நீக்குதல்

• சபாநாயகரை நீக்கக் கோரிய தீர்மானம் கேரள சட்டசபையில் நிராகரிக்கப்பட்டது.
• சபாநாயகரின் பதவிக்காலம் சட்டசபையின் பதவிக்காலத்தை ஒத்து அமையும், அதாவது 5 ஆண்டுகள்.
• ஒரு அரிதி பெரும்பான்மையால்(effective majority) நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட ஒரு தீர்மானத்தின் மூலம் (தற்போதைய வருகை மற்றும் வாக்களிப்பின் மொத்த எண்ணிக்கையில் 50% க்கும் அதிகமாக) அவர் நீக்கப்படலாம்.
• மக்கள் பிரதிநிதித்துவச் சட்டம்,1951ன் கீழ்  சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினராக தகுதி நீக்கம் செய்யப்பட்ட பின்னரும் அவர் நீக்கப்படலாம்.

5. Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP)

• Kerala minor girls were victims of sexual assault during lockdown.
• Medical Termination of Pregnancy Bill, 2020 that has been approved by the Cabinet includes the following changes:
• It extended the upper limit for permitting abortions from 20 weeks to 24 weeks under special circumstances.
• The “special categories of women” include victims of incest, rape survivors, differently-abled and minors.
• So, the court has allowed their pregnancy termination, considering their future.

5. மருத்துவ கருக்கலைப்பு (MTP)

• கேரள சிறுமிகள் பொதுமுடக்கத்தின்போது பாலியல் வன்கொடுமையால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
• மருத்துவ கருக்கலைப்பு மசோதா 2020 க்கு அமைச்சரவை ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது. அதில் பின்வரும் மாற்றங்கள் அடங்கும்:
• சிறப்புச் சூழ்நிலைகளில் கருக்கலைப்புகளை அனுமதிக்கும் உச்ச வரம்பை 20 வாரங்களிலிருந்து 24 வாரங்கள் வரை நீட்டித்தது.
• “பெண்கள் சிறப்பு பிரிவுகள்” தூண்டுதலால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், கற்பழிப்பில் தப்பிப்பிழைத்தவர்கள், மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் மற்றும் இளவர் ஆகியோர் அடங்குவர்.
• எனவே, அவர்களின் எதிர்காலத்தைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, அவர்களுக்கு மருத்துவ கருக்கலைப்பு செய்ய நீதிமன்றம் அனுமதி அளித்துள்ளது.

6. Rations at the doorstep

• It has been implemented in Andhra Pradesh.
• Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy flagged off mobile dispensing units (door delivery vehicles), meant to supply rations.
• It will take essential commodities to the doorstep of ration card-holders in the State.
• This service will begin on February 1.

6. வீட்டு வாசலில் அத்தியாவசியப்பொருள் வழங்கல்

7. Smart Cameras to help women in distress

• It has been introduced in Uttar Pradesh.
• They will be installed in 200 hotspots, with 5 cameras each, where it will capture the pictures of women in distress and alert the nearby police station.
• It uses Artificial intelligence.

• It is located at Pune.
• It is the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer by the number of doses produced and sold globally.

13. Aquatic Animal Quarantine Units Disease Diagnostic Laboratory

• Union Minister of Fisheries Department Giriraj Singh laid the foundation stone for the Aquatic Isolation and Diagnostic Laboratory at Padappai at a cost of Rs.19.26 crores .
• The programme was held at Padappai in Kancheepuram District under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development.

15. Government of India has sanctioned construction of 1,68,606 houses under PM Urban Housing Scheme in various States.

• The project is approved by the Central Sanction and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.
• The 52^nd Meeting of CSMC was presided over by Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary of India, Durga Shankar Mishra.

16. Vinay Reddy, a young Indian origin who prepared the address of the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES, is from Telangana state.

Vinay also delivered Joe Biden and  Kamala Harris campaign speeches during the election campaign.

17. The inauguration of the special scheme for free land pattas to more than one lakh tribal people in Assam will be held on January 23.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the programme and launch the scheme by distributing pattas.

18. China has supported Antonio Guterres for a second term as the secretary-general of the UN organization.
