Smt. Anupriya Patel Launches National Strategic Plan (2017-24) and Mission “SAMPARK”
On World AIDS Day, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Smt.Anupriya Patel urges all to join hands to end the epidemic by 2030 and Launches National Strategic Plan (2017-24) and Mission “SAMPARK”.
SAMPARK is to trace those who are Left to Follow Up and are to be brought under ART services. World AIDS Day, 2017 organized by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The next seven years are, therefore, critical and investments made now will result in substantive gains towards ‘End of AIDS’.
India’s largest floating solar power plant to be inaugurated in Kerala
Kerala power minister MM Mani will inaugurate the plant at the Banasura Sagar dam in Wayanad. The solar power plant that floats on the surface of water has a capacity of 500 kilowatts (KW). This is the country’s largest floating solar plant.
It is constructed byMinister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare the plant will generate seven lakh units per year. The total cost of the project is Rs. 9.25 crore.

IT park for differently-abled in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is all set to be world’s first Information Technology campus for persons with disabilities (PWDs). On the eve of World Disability Day, Telangana Government, in association with Vindhya E-Infomedia Pvt Ltd, will establish the IT campus.
It will be opened at Shamshabad near Hyderabad international airport. Majority of their workforce comprises of Physically Challenged, Hearing Impaired and Visually Impaired.
Venkaiah Naidu launches Deen Dayal Divyangajan Sahajya Scheme in Assam
Vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu with Assam Governor Jagadish Mukhi and CM Sarbananda Sonowal gave financial assistance during the inaugural ceremony of Deen Dayal Divyangjan Sahajya Achoni.
Under the scheme every differently abled person in the state would be entitled to a one-time grant of Rs 5,000 for their treatment. The event held at Sarusojai Stadium, Guwahati, Assam.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Inaugurates First Phase of Chabahar Port
The first phase of the Chabahar port project is known as the Shahid Beheshti port and it is inaugurated by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Minister of state for shipping Pon Radhakrishnan represented India at the inauguration.
The port, located in Iran’s southeastern Sistan- Baluchestan Province. It will open up a new strategic transit route among Iran, India and Afghanistan, bypassing Pakistan.It boosts trade between Iran and India.

New Delhi inks pact related to Electronics and Technology with Netherlands
Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) signed 2 Bilateral Advance Pricing Agreements (APA) with Netherlands. These Agreements are the first ever Bilateral APAs with Netherlands.
The international transactions in the agreements include Distribution, Provision of Marketing Support Services, Provision of Business Support Services. With the signing of these Agreements, the total number of APAs entered into by the CBDT has gone up to 186. This includes 171 Unilateral APAs and 15 Bilateral APAs.

Mary Kom resigns as national observer for Indian boxing
Five-time world champion M C Mary Kom has resigned national observer for Indian boxing. Mary Kom was among 12 national observers appointed by the then Sports Minister Vijay Goel.
She resigned after Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore made it clear that active sportspersons will not be considered for the position.
A.Surya Prakash Re-Appointed as Prasar Bharati Chief
The government has appointed A Surya Prakash as the Chairman of Prasar Bharati Board for a second consecutive term till February 2020.
The appointment has been made by the President on the recommendations of a selection committee. The selection committee that recommended his re-appointment was led by Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu.
Prasar Bharati, is a statutory autonomous body under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, that was set up to oversee the functioning of Doordarshan and All India Radio.

HDFC Bank’s Aditya Puri in Fortune’s Businessperson of the Year top 20 list
Aditya Puri, the Managing Director of HDFC Bank, is the only Indian in Fortune’s ‘Businessperson of the Year’ list at 18th rank rising from 2016’s 36th rank.
The Businessperson of the Year list is an annual ranking of world’s top 20 heads of companies. Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, a Taiwan-born American entrepreneur and businessman, has topped the list.

The 23rd Edition of Star Screen Awards held at Mumbai
The 23rd edition of the annual film awards show, Star Screen Awards, was held at Mumbai. Vidya Balan bagged the Best Actress Award (Critics) for Tumhari Sulu, Rajkummar Rao was named the Best Actor (Critics) for Newton.
