National Science Day

• National Science Day is celebrated across India on February 28. Famous Indian scientist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman discovered the Raman Effect on this day in 1928.
• This year the theme for the National Science Day is: Science for people and people for science.
• For his discovery, Sir CV Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. India honoured him with its highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna in 1954.

தேசிய அறிவியல் தினம்

• விஞ்ஞானி சர் சிவி ராமன் பிப்ரவரி 28  1928-இல் ராமன் விளைவு என்னும் அறிவியல் கூற்றை கண்டுபடித்தார். அதனை நினைவு கூறும் வகையில் இந்தியாவில் பிப்ரவரி 28 ஆம் தேதி தேசிய அறிவியல் தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
• இந்த ஆண்டு ‘மக்களுக்காக அறிவியல் அறிவியலுக்காக மக்கள்’ என்னும் கருத்தரு வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• அவரது ராமன் விளைவுக்காக 1930 ஆம் ஆண்டு நோபல் பரிசு பெற்றார். அதன் பிறகு சிவி ராமன் அவர்களுக்கு இந்திய அரசு மிக உயரிய பாரத ரத்னா விருதினை 1954 ஆம் ஆண்டு வழங்கி கவுரவித்தது.

Former PepsiCo Chief in Amazon

• Amazon has appointed former PepsiCo Chief Executive Officer Indra Nooyi as a director. With Nooyi’s appointment, Amazon’s eleven-member board now has five women. She was born in Chennai.

• அமேசான் நிறுவனத்தின் இயக்குனராக பெப்ஸியின் முன்னாள் தலைவர் இந்திரா நூயி நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். இதன் மூலம் 11 உறுப்பினர்கள் உள்ள அமேசான் நிர்வாக குழுவில் 5 பெண்கள் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளனர். நூயி சென்னையில் பிறந்தவர் ஆவார்.

Exercise Sampriti 2019

• India and Bangladesh will be conducting a joint military exercise, ‘Exercise Sampriti 2019’ at Tangail, Bangladesh from March 2 to March 15, 2019. This will be the eighth edition of the exercise.

• 4th Global Digital Health Partnership Summit held in New Delhi is being hosted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in collaboration with the World Health Organization(WHO) and the Global Digital Health Partnership.

• விளையாட்டு உடல்தகுதி ஆகியவை குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்ற 
  நோக்கத்தில் ‘கேலோ இந்தியா’ என்ற பெயரில் செல்லிடப் பேசி செயலியை பிரதமர் மோடி 
  டெல்லியில் நடைப்பெற்ற இளையோர் நாடாளுமன்ற விழாவில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார்.

ISSF World Cup 2019

• India jointly topped the standings with Hungary with three gold medals in International Shooting Sport Federation(ISSF) World Cup held in Delhi.
• India’s pair of Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary clinched a gold medal in the 10th Air Pistol mixed team event.
• Apurvi Chandela won gold medal in 10m Women Air Rifle. Saurabh Chaudhary had won gold medal in Men’s 10m air pistol event.
